The "One touch" paragraph is spot on. So is the Future proofing" paragraph. But then old Alex Insano goes off the rails in the other paragraphs. The solenoid does not work to illuminate indicotor lights. They do just fine when operating it manually. And of course the back feed prevention is built into the switch regardless of whether the solenoid moves it or a hand moves it.

AI does tend to hallucinate now and then, lol.

I enjoy the one touch activation - my old one required flipping a switch for each circuit:

The meters were a nice touch to see the balance or imbalance, but now I can see that on the screen in the Lightning...but not in the Ford APP!

You tried it with only E1 and E3 (120V hot and neutral) connected right?

I think that when I first tried it, I had already tied together E1 and E2. When it warms up, I'll try (and document) a few possibilities. For the time being, I'm happy with switching it by hand.

I LIKE the meters! A flash from the past! I still have a couple analogue VOM's that can be handy for transients that digital meters can miss. I actually have an analog chart recorder that draws on real paper!

I get a kick out of all the speedometers that use a modern video screen to present a picture of a needle, bezel, etc. When I was a kid, I took apart a few mechanical speedometers. They use a eddy current brake to move the needle. Back then, if someone explained the speedometer of the future, I would have laughed: "They won't make anything so complicated!" I might have said.

Completely unrelated to anything other than complexity: I read that the new Samsung cell phone has a 200 MP camera. (About 14.4K pixels by 14.4 K pixels.) VGA, 640 x 480 could look pretty good on a computer screen back in the day. 300,000 pixels, roughly. So this Samsung could display over 600 VGA computer screens, intensely miniaturized.

You might be interested in how I wired the GENERAC with the old transfer switch so I didn't have to unwire and dismount it for the wall - yes sometimes I AM lazy, lol.

Looks easy on paper...

In retrospect, hindsight is always 20/20, taking the old transfer switch down and just using a bonding plug with the gas generator through the GENERAC might/would have been easier.

Yes I still use analog meters - prefer them for some things, like capturing the spike/surge that trips the Lightning when switching with Utility power on. Digital meters always seem to be searching for the number...

Amazing what cell phone cameras can do these days....200MP that's like 10 times the MP of my Canon EOS 70D!

Of course there is more to digital photos than just the size of the sensor MP, like the lens quality, depth of field, color balance, low light performance, etc.

And think about the storage they'd require.

When viewing them on a screen (TV PC laptop etc) the resolution of the viewing device will be the limiting factor.

A 4k TV display has about 8 MP (about 4k x 2k rounding off).

My PC display is 1920 x 1200 so about 2 mp.

For enlargement prints that 200MP would produce better results no doubt maybe better than film cameras?

I switched to a DSLR camera for the convenience and cost savings over my old Nikon F2 and film handling/processing, but I sometimes find myself fighting with the digital camera auto features and turn them off.

I am often impressed with the pictures my kids and grandkids take with their iPhones, they often rival or surpass DSLR images.
