I’m seeing 8 to 16 stalls on the route I mapped…..The biggest issue is essentially all of the stations along 59 are small (less than 4 chargers), so good possibility of being busy or broken.

I mean starting at or before Houston doesn’t seem to make a difference. Still plenty of good options on this route. I mean, it’s not SoCal but it’s far from a charging desert.Strange, PlugShare.com was NOT showing any large stations along 59 at all when I made that statement. Yes, there is lots of stuff in Houston, but that was the starting point.
You'll be waiting a very long time for that to happen.Ford really missed on canceling the lightning. The extended range vehicle is ridiculous. Like someone said above I can go about 200 miles and I need to go to the bathroom and get a bite to eat and drive again. I don’t know how anyone does 345 hour marathon driving but to each his own I’ll wait for the Democratic president to come into power and bring back the Ford lightning so stupid.
two of your stops are Tesla. As per my thread BEFORE Tesla I couldn't make this trip. Now I can but there are other trips I still can't make because there are plenty of charging deserts still out there requiring going out of you way to find a place to charge. granted in California and the East Coast possibly no problem. but there is no comparison between EV's and an ICE vehicle that you can jump in and drive anywhere you want to go without Eeen considering where or when you will get fuel. You gotta help me understand this one as I don’t get it. I’ve mapped two trips on 59 with my Lightning and I’m struggling to see what the issue is…..

Exactly! The biggest issue is essentially all of the stations along 59 are small (less than 4 chargers), so good possibility of being busy or broken.
As per my original comment to you, things have obviously changed…. Not sure there are as many “charging deserts” as you think there are….two of your stops are Tesla.
