I'm kicking off the Ultimate F150 Lightning Build Series with a full reveal of what Trucked Up EVs will be doing and why.

In the end, I hope to transform Quasimoto, my 2022 F150 Lightning Lariat ER into a fully capable, nimble but mighty, Lightning Raptor EREV - but I'll be able to chose the power source!

We'll be attacking range, approach and departure, break-over angle, bumpers, sliders, wheels, tires, and so much more.

I want to thank the amazing Martin over at Martin Rebuilds, Engineer mastermind Zachary Scott Carpenter, Christopher Bowe, the team at Worksport, Bluetti, Power Tech, Carlinkit, Vantrue, OBDlink, Champion, and the suspension and aftermarket product suppliers who are already working to support this journey (more details on them as things unfold!)

Should be fun!

Very cool. I'm most interested in the Everdrive system. Martin and Zach have been very tight lipped for the last few months.

Also in regards to the Worksport solar cover. You mentioned it outputs 600 watts. However, if you look on their website it has an asterisks next to that. At the bottom of the page it says 600 watts is possible with an 8 foot bed which the lightning obviously doesn't have. I assume its closer to 400 watts in the lightning's bed. I built a custom solar tonneau and 450 watts was the most I could get on there and it still look decent and function properly.

I have found a workaround with the bumper its called a recon bumper for a 21 f150 from i believe rough country. I have had it on for awhile now with no problems and the skidplate. The skid plate only is hooked to the bumper with no issues and i have jumped it and just tested the limits with no issues

I've seen a couple of folk do this now, and It does the job beautifully!
Two questions/concerns:
1) Where are your side sensors? Any Lightning with the 360-degree feature have six sensors, not four. There was that phase after 2022 due to chip and sensor shortages that Ford slapped a puny $100 credit on the window sticker and stripped off the extra two and offered only "Front Parking Aid". Also, most of the Standard Range Pros and XLTs never got the six bumper sensors, but the higher volume-selling Flash had them.
Being that fully half of the Lightnings on the road have six, I don't think this bumper has that option in the buy menu, but I'll look into it again.
2) does the skid plate replacement have the directional vent fins for the air coming off the front intake radiator, or did you cut those in?
Your truck looks fantastic! What lift package did you opt for?
I would love to feature it in my Viewer's Corner Segment in one of my Trucked Up(date) episodes. If game, email over landscape-oriented pics only, a brief bio, and the build story, and I'll show you off in a little vignette! truckedupevs(at)gmail(dot)com

Maybe it's because I'm like +80% of F-150 owners and never/rarely tow, but I have ZERO interest in these EREV solutions - either third party or Ford. Hell, I have an SR Pro and it hasn't limited me on 19 road trips of at least 1500 miles each. And I do virtually no long distance travel in the coastal corridors - most of my journeys are in the wide open West, or the EV-unfriendly South. The reality is that even in remote areas there is now DCFC charging.

On my last trip this spring, I successfully (and easily) fast charged in Kayenta (AZ), Blanding (UT), Leadville (CO), Kit Carson (CO), Russell (KS), and Bartlesville (OK). I challenge folks to find those wide spots on the road without a map search engine (with the exception of Russell, they are all VERY FAR from any interstate). My point? EV charging infrastructure in the United States isn't just quickly improving, it is already there. And it will only get better in the next year or two (no thanks to EA). It takes a very specific use case to argue that the Lightning lacks sufficient range to accomplish a mission. As a highway trooper said to me the other day, if you're towing something big, heavy, and doing it a long distance, you have no business towing with an F-150 in the first place.

Ford F-150 Lightning Ultimate F150 Lightning Build: Converting a 2022 ER Lightning into a Raptor EREV Nowhere

My Lightning Pro SR in the Middle of Nowhere, SE Utah. But I never went below 15% SOC because even in Nowhere, USA, there are DCFC chargers. It is also essentially stock with Hankook iON HT tires. Sure, I don't do any rock-crawling in it, but it spends A LOT of time on dirt and does just fine.

Look again. There are definitely 6 sensors. They are just not all visible in a single photo.

1st question no side sensors plugs which near future I was going to put yellow marker lights 2nd no it doesnt affect the grid on the air side. i included pics. I have a 2.5 inch Bilstein struts no pucs, upper ball control arm from Tuff country sway bar drop from a bronco that i just enlarged the holes and put new bolts and bigger sway bars from Oreilly’s since the others were looking stretched and then wheel spacers on all 4 and raptor beadlocks that are true beadlocks but i haven’t used yet just regular for now
3rd ok I am game they said these trucks are not modifiable and well i did just that.
