Slate is not going to hard launch to optimal success. Most people that are lower-income/Slate marketing targets may want a low-cost new vehicle - but live in apartments with no ready EV plug in access.

That being the case - if that's me or someone I'm advising: get an awesome new ICE vehicle for the same price - that holds its value well.

I thought cool, I'll put a deposit down, but then I calmed down lol. This seems like trying to make a US market for a Japan Kei type truck.

I love how everyone gets excited for a Kei in the US, they are a unique experience for most Americans for sure. But after 3 months in north Japan with Honda Kei truck, I'm good with a normal size vehicle for comfort and utility.

I disagree. Our neighbors have a Honda Acty and I think this is quite a bit bigger based on published specs. This is much closer in size to a Maverick and will have to be much safer than Keis which some states are now banning.
