Severe GOM discrepancy

So 1 more question. Did a full factory and EV stat reset. I know GOM is not accurate but it’s so far out of line that it is bizarre. Currently at 49% charge and shows 109km range for an extended. Not terribly worried as my stats in Car Scanner look ok, but anyone ever seen this? With my Mach E it was always the opposite with the GOM being wildly over the top.

Figured it out! For some reason, it was stuck thinking it had a trailer attached
That was going to be my suggestion for you and future viewers of this thread, the pesky trailer attached is usually the culprit

Figured it out! For some reason, it was stuck thinking it had a trailer attached
if you tow a trailer, and disconnect the trailer with the truck off, you have to manually tell the truck you don't have a trailer attached.

Yes that estimated range is out of whack, should be a lot more double by my guesstimate.

I think it should be the full (100%) HVB Energy x SOC x efficiency in km / kWh.
(That way the kWh cancel out and the range result is in km.)

If you use Car Scanner, you know the remaining energy "E", then E (in kWh) x efficiency (in km/kWh) = Range (in km) assuming that efficiency holds up for the trip.

The Car Scanner numbers are a bit funky: if the SOH is really 100% and the 47.1% is really 61kWh, then the HVB had a total capacity at 100% of 129.5kWh but the usable should be 131kWh and with the buffers 143.4kWh so something is amiss. Also the dash display rounds 47.1% to 48%? WT Fudge.

It's all a guess-timate anyway...:)

But if you don't have Car Scanner numbers, just go with 131kWh x SOC for the energy, the multiply by the km / kWh efficiency. So 131kWh x 48% = 62.88kWh; and let's say an efficiency of 3.5km/kWh (which seems to be the average owners report) then round things of to make life easier:

63 x 3.5 = 220.5 km range (or 137 miles)

That whacky guesstimate of 109km is an efficiency of about 1.7km/kWh (1.1 mile/kWh), not great...unless you have a heavy load to pull up a hill? :)

Yes the EPA estimate is about 2.44 miles/kWh for the ER equipped Lariat, but I think 2.2 is closer to reality.
