I don’t have any experience with truck campers.
As for weight, I wouldn’t worry about being held liable for being 100-150 lbs overweight. Liability for modestly exceeding ratings is a persistent myth that shows up in nearly every thread concerning weight. If you’re 5000 lbs overweight then...
I’m sure things will have settled down a little bit in six months. A lot of the “gotta have the latest thing” people should have moved on to something else by then.
Wind makes quite a difference to fuel economy when towing, although it tends to average out over time.
I average about 10 USmpg (23 L/100km) towing this beast at 55 mph. It can vary by about +/- 15% depending on the wind.
With PlugShare one can filter based on user rating of the station and rated power. These are all CCS stations rated 10/10 with a minimum capability of 120 kW.

I think it goes without saying the Lightning is not optimized for long-distance road tripping compared to a Model 3. The Lightning is a brick-shaped pickup truck that can tow (up to) 10,000 pounds.
It makes sense to allow for malfunctioning chargers and charging congestion when trip planning. I...
I’ve been playing around, plotting some long distance trips. As much as the Lightning isn’t really built for long-distance RVing, I’ve learned that my family isn’t built for it either. Sure the Lightning’s no good for covering big miles in a day, but for a multi-day trip with lots of rest stops...
That is true. There do seem to be quite a few F-150 owners who have the 650, and Cruise America rents them.

If @PV2EV wants to strictly observe weight ratings, then you’re probably limited to a pop-up style camper. Of course...
That’s awesome, thanks for the info. Roughly 50% is what I think most of us were expecting. The Airstream is more aerodynamic than a flat-sided trailer so I might not do so well.
I don’t know too much about truck campers but options are limited for trucks with 5.5-foot beds. Here’s an example.

Pay attention to weight but don’t get obsessed with it. Sometimes the internet gets a bit silly. I’ve seen people advised to trade...
