An OTA or FDRS update reverting FORScan changes is nothing new. It's actually very common. It's (imo) a minor nuisance that FORScan users have to deal with.
I don't want to derail this thread, but I think you may be confusing FORScan with FDRS. FORScan is free and the adapter is $30. If anyone has questions about it, feel free to message me.
Agreed that most don't use it; mostly because people are scared of it. If they only knew how quick and easy this was to fix, it would make their heads' spin. I always make the recommendation. Whether people will take the plunge or not is up to them.
The fuse pull works for the TCU. The issue that requires the 20 minute battery pull is when you check for updates and it stays with stuck with the spinning pinwheel icon and never gets passed that.
I can access the same info dealers can with the VIN. Posting your VIN online would not allow just anyone to see what I see. Is it possible that someone can access some of your personal info with your VIN? Yes. However, I do not do public VIN checks anymore, so the only one who sees the VIN is me...
They did not replace anything. There was no need to. All they did was re-program the IPMA with a PMI procedure and run the IPMA and 360 degree camera calibrations. AFAIK, that is the textbook procedure to fix what happened to your truck.
It shouldn't. Lane change is enabled in line 706-01-02. Message me the VIN and a screenshot of the first for lines of the ipma. No rush..... I'm not home and can't look into in until later.
