That's one point of view. My POV? I'm super grateful that we have alternative means of getting what we want (and getting rid of what we don't want). To each their own.
Keep in mind there are two different BC 1.4 OTA's......the one that installs the new software and the one that enables the new...
Fordpass is only going to show the details of your last OTA attempt; not everything you have pending.
The newest APIM seems to improve wireless phone projection from what I've been seeing in the forums. Apparently, it's been released for everyone except 2021 trucks, so I don't have it yet and...
FDRS is very easy and walks you through the process step-by-step. It is time consuming, but not difficult. You can look up some youtube tutorials on FDRS, too. If you are no rush, I run a loaner program for the cable if you don't want to spend $600 on it. Based on the waiting list, July is when...
FDRS = Ford Diagnostic & Repair System. It's the same software dealers techs use and allows you to update the modules yourself. It does require an investment in the tools needed to use it. Details are below:

It is believed to download through the modem as part of the authentication process. The only OTA's that require wifi to download are a select few that only update configuration and not firmware itself.
If they updated the IPMA, you have the BC 1.4 software and can enable the BC 1.4 features with FORScan. The dealer does not have the ability to do that yet.
The thing is, AFAIK, FORScan won't show you what you came from.....only what is there now. You'd have to document what is there pre and post the OTA to compare without PTS.
I believe it is in the 8033 DID. Going from memory here, but I'm pretty sure that's it.
Edit: Yea, that's it. This is from your truck.
In the case that the vehicle was on another older version of Sync, it will look very different as the update packet is more extensive. Like this:
I would like to say kudos to you for taking my advice and taking matters into your own hands. The vast majority of people do not. Whether it is due to the expense of the equipment, fear of messing something up or both, most people do not do what you did. When I first bought my truck, I was...
