The front sensors CSP called for the dealer to update the IPMA/PSCM modules to the latest version so in essence, the CSP getting done was the equivalent of getting the BC 1.4 update via OTA. The only difference is that with the CSP version, it would not write the config to enable the new...
I know of one person who has been using that cable for almost a year now with no issues. He got it from alibaba for $132. The guy using is has above-average knowledge of module programming and he vouched for it and recommended I get one if I even need to replace one of my Mongooses...
Correct. You will not see any new features; just maybe a slight improvement to BC in terms of lane centering/keeping and overall performance to where it won't dis-engage as often.
Got your message, but I will respond here for the sake of the info being out here. When you updated with FDRS on 1/17, you did not update the IPMA. Your IPMA is on the BAE strategy which is the same software the Mach E's are getting with BC 1.3. So, while Ford claims the 2024 Lightnings are...
Easiest way would be to just message me the VIN. If you have FORScan, you can plug in and check the software strategy the IPMA is on by clicking on module details.
I am not sure if the newer IPMA software has been released for 2024+ trucks yet. If when you did your updates, you updated the IPMA, then it is possible that you upgraded to BC 1.4 instead of 1.2. However, if you did not update the IPMA with FDRS, then you are still on BC 1.2.
Interesting indeed, but I stick to my story on this. lol I guess time will prove me right or wrong eventually. Below is the info for a pre-production 2025 Mach E with BC. The IPMA software states ABE version which at first glance, it seems like it is older than what we have with BBC:
However...
Ford has implied many things that we know on the forums is straight BS, and if they implied this, then we can add this to the dumpster fire of misinformation they put out there. The config to enable auto lane change actually already exists within the related modules, but the software itself does...
Don't hold your breathe waiting for a response. Message me the VIN and I can give you some insight into how behind you are and if there are any connectivity issues with your truck. However, as was stated before, Ford's OTA process is unpredictable and unreliable and going months without updates...
I wouldn't call this release beta.....beta would have been the previous IPMA software that was replaced with the current one starting in September, and that older one worked great. I would not say the new one is better or worse than what I had before, tbh. I just think the deployment process is...
Got it. As of right now, the connectivity on your truck is working. The dealer has been working on the truck, so maybe whatever they did fixed it, but as of right now, it shows connected and not reporting any codes that would affect BC. Before today, it was reporting a code in the CCM citing an...
GWM, APIM and TCU are done while the vehicle is on and running. Only certain updates where the vehicle has to be parked will trigger the HVB to charge the LVB.
Not sure why it's faster with the OTA. Maybe the OTA uses the Ethernet connection to write the files instead of CAN with FDRS? I really...
It's the same update. The only difference is the OTA version enables the new BC features and the CSP does not. The IPMA and PSCM are the modules updated.
