Say what? Why would putting a cap on a pickup allow you to change to a non-commercial registration? I've been driving pickups in California for 40 years and that's a new one on me. And I'm old enough to remember when for a short time, California was requiring commercial registration on...
That's something I was wondering about over the weekend when I was driving my ICE Dodge down a moderately steep crappy dirt road from a radio site. In the Dodge I had the transfer case in 4x4 low and the transmission in 2nd gear. I spent more time on the gas pedal than the brake (what I...
Keeping in mind that I do not have a Lightning yet, so have never had the opportunity to drive a vehicle with 1 pedal mode. However once I do, I will drive multiple vehicles that are all 2 pedal vehicles. In an emergency I don't want to have to think which vehicle I'm in and how to panic stop.
So I have gathered. The frustrating part is that every dealer around lists the same vehicles as "in stock" - which would go along with a regional fulfillment center, but no one can actually get those vehicles.
That's what I am planning on. Fortunately this is the Los Angeles basin. There...
Well, the saga continues. I had sent the sales guy I had met a few weeks ago at my local dealer an e-Mail earlier this week with a listing of what were requirements and that most other features were optional. He responded in part a few minutes ago:
This is beyond frustrating. I have money...
Good point. I've been driving tall vehicles (with 2-way radio antennas on top to boot) for decades so I am very used to it. I have a P-Touch label on the dash with the vertical clearance requirement. And I add another six inches or so for antennas. They will still drag, but not gonna break...
This goes WAY back. My parents had ski boats since before I was born, and bought their first RV trailer when I was less than 10. I towed both MANY times after I got my license. The boat and trailer weighed more than the RV trailer. Driving on the freeway, you hardly noticed the boat back...
Local dealers (several of them) can actually get their hands on any of them that the Ford website says they have in stock. It's really frustrating. Been trying to buy a truck for several weeks now.
Only somewhat flexible on color - and I don't want white. And just for good measure, that one is not even available to look at (let alone test drive or sell) because it's in the shop for a recall.
And yes, Colley is my local Ford dealer - less than 2 miles from home. I have been on the lot at...
That may be the way it's supposed to be, but clearly is not. As I said, the same VINs were shown as in stock at multiple dealerships, and none of those dealers could even find them anywhere in whatever system they use. Same vehicles showing in stock for the past 10 days or so - and nowhere to...
It gets more entertaining (frustrating). Looking around at inventory at multiple dealers in the area. When you search for in stock inventory at a particular dealer, the vehicle details listing includes the VIN as the end of the URL (it's not displayed on the page). Turns out that multiple...
These are specifically saying that they are in stock, not in the "available withing 10 days". Kind of a bummer because I will miss the tax credit deadline...
Is this a common issue? According to the Ford website, my local dealer has about a half dozen Lightnings available. In reality they have one and it's currently unavailable due to a recall (and it's not one of the ones listed on the Ford website). What gives?
Maybe I'm wrong, but I understood the intent was for off road driving where being able to see the rocks is very useful. I would not use something like that on pavement.
