  1. Daytime running lights DRL not working!

Am I understanding that you at least have the option to disabling DRLs? If so, THANK your favorite diety! I am firmly opposed to DRLs because one of the results of DRLs and electronic display dashboards is a massive number of cars driving at night with nothing but the DRLs. This time of year...
  2. I lost my charge port cover.

Conclusion is your wife needs practice (or training) driving in close proximity to objects.
  3. 2025 Order banks open through dealers today (2/11/25)

One more reason I want to get a 2024 rather than waiting for a 2025.
  4. 2025 Order banks open through dealers today (2/11/25)

So, besides the change to the Tesla style charging inlet, what's different with the 2025 model year?
  5. Vehicle availability vs what the Ford website says?

That is correct. A little more detailed search will show the same vehicles listed by VIN as "In stock" at every dealer in the area, but none of those actually have them.
  6. Vehicle availability vs what the Ford website says?

Well, still have not been able to find a truck to buy - even pointed the most recent dealer towards the EV Replenishment center. Crickets. Just for humor's sake, a few minutes I got a marketing E-Mail from "Southern California Ford Dealers" telling me how wonderful their trucks are and to see...
  7. 3,800 mile winter trip, new learnings

You did a good job on yourself. Note for future use - don't do that again (but you already knew that).
  8. 3,800 mile winter trip, new learnings

Ouch! As a man who suffered for years of bad knees, I can appreciate what you are going through. Finally had the left replacement in August 2023 and the right replacement in January 2024. So much better! Good luck with your recovery.
  9. Crossing an EV (and quite real) desert

That's a cool drive. I think I have been on all of the roads there, but not at the same trip. I was raised appreciating the desert, and still like to spend time out there. There is beauty that most people don't realize is there.
  10. Help - stranded

You hope. Does not always work out that way. Obviously it depends on the situation.
  11. Vehicle availability vs what the Ford website says?

That is the fallback, but was at least originally aiming to not have the extended wait time to order a 2025. May be what I have to do.
  12. Vehicle availability vs what the Ford website says?

I'm sure it is a dealer problem. Last I looked, every dealer in town lists the same trucks as "in stock" and if you click on it, the VIN is part of the URL. Same VIN at every dealer, so I assume it's really at the fulfillment center (or replenishment center). Both local dealers can't even...
  13. Vehicle availability vs what the Ford website says?

@Ford Motor Company Is there anything you can do from your end to find trucks that your own website shows are in stock, but they can't find. Based on other comments in this thread it would appear that they are actually at the Fulfillment center, but these dealers have no idea how to find or get...
  14. Help - stranded

Losing my truck is not the issue. Losing my life is. When escape is the only goal, the vehicle should not work against you. Same issue with a remote key fob unlock that only unlocks ALL doors as opposed to the drivers door only. Just gave the bad guy a way into the vehicle so they can harm you.
  15. Where’s the savings!!!!

Damn, I would love to ONLY be spending $200 for fuel! I'm currently spending about $500 per month for gas. Even with high California electric rates, I expect that to drop by about 60% when I switch to the Lightning. I expect to almost exclusively charge at home on the lower off peak rates.
  16. When you cant get Peacock on the screen for the race

Hey luebri, you Green Bay fans are NUTS! Note that I was grumbling about how cold it was leaving my house this morning at 41.5 degrees. There is a reason that I live in southern California!
  17. Vehicle availability vs what the Ford website says?

The saga continues. Went into another dealer last week. Same story. They had one Lightning on the lot that sold 20 minutes before I got there... They are telling me the same thing. They can't get vehicles. They are using similar wording as the first dealer - no one is willing to make...
  18. Is the Ford factory making Lightnings again?

The funny part is that if you go to the Ford.com website and try to order a Lightning, you are ordering a 2024. Or so it says.
  19. Has anyone installed a bed cap such as Leer or Snugtop on their Lightning

Two things abut that largely means that a cap (not a camper) does not meet the requirement to be registered as a non-commercial vehicle. First is a cap or shell does not have the camping requirements to meet the definition, and if you EVER take the shell off, it must be registered as a...
