  1. Your Username - why & what does it mean?

That's nice looking. Have not played chess in decades, but I still have a chess set that was hand carved pieces that a friend brought back from South Africa in the 80s.
  2. Your Username - why & what does it mean?

K6CCC is my amateur radio callsign. I use it in lots of places.
  3. Horrible Cup holders?

I figured that one out in the first hour. Works well. I do drive my truck on crappy dirt road going up to mountaintop radio sites. I did that for the first time with my 3 day old truck yesterday. Nice having my Bubba cup stay put - that was a major issue in my Dodge. That does look nice.
  4. Where to get Ford Telsa Charging Adapters

Thanks for the correction - I thought I had read that it was a recall.
  5. Where to get Ford Telsa Charging Adapters

Yes it does and they are massively backordered. Also there was a recall that made it even worse There are a couple threads here on this forum about this. Many people have resorted to 3rd party adapters - including me. Do a quick search here for this subject and you will quickly find the...
  6. Long time listener, first time caller...

I know your feeling - having bought my Flash (also in AM Blue) on Monday. Enjoy!
  7. First use of Mobile Power Cord not working

Life is getting better. I got into work early this morning and snagged one of the four 7KW Shell network chargers here at work. I had brought up the Shell app while driving over since it's real time availability for the chargers outside my office window seems to be better than FordPass. I...
  8. First use of Mobile Power Cord not working

Got some more good news. The Mobile Power Cord is working fine (albeit slowly on 120V) on the same outlet I was using last night. We'll see what small amount I actually get into the battery overnight. More good news. I stopped at a ChargePoint station on the way home. It was only a 6KW...
  9. First use of Mobile Power Cord not working

The good news is that plugging into a different outlet resulted in the Mobile cord control box lit up blue just fine. The bad news is I spent 45 minutes trying to use any of the public chargers here at work. All three locations are on the "Shell Recharge" network. Loaded that app and created...
  10. First use of Mobile Power Cord not working

Thanks for that link. Far more useful than the owners manual. When I break for lunch in about a half hour I'm going to go out to the parking structure and plug into one of the public chargers here, and I will grab the mobile cord and bring it into the shop and test it here to see what status...
  11. First use of Mobile Power Cord not working

Thanks for the info that the light SHOULD be blue - the manual does not state that, so glad to have that info. I'm pretty sure it's GFCI since code requires it, and I built it to code when I installed it. I will try a different source this evening.
  12. First use of Mobile Power Cord not working

Nothing - just the normal "Vehicle Parked"
  13. First use of Mobile Power Cord not working

Not sure if this is me or the equipment - only got my Lightning a day and a half ago.... I wanted to try out the Mobile Power Cord for charging. This was mostly a test for me, not to overly productively charge the truck. At the moment I don't have a convenient 240V outlet (I should have time...
  14. Vehicle availability vs what the Ford website says?

As I mentioned yesterday I found a local dealer that actually was interested in finding and selling me a Lightning. After work, I drove over there and took a test drive in a Flash that they had on the lot that was almost every item on my wishlist. After some discussion, it was decided that...
  15. Vehicle availability vs what the Ford website says?

I have a brand new Lightning Flash in antimatter blue!!! More in the morning - I gotta get to bed.
  16. Vehicle availability vs what the Ford website says?

Be still my heart! Finally found a local dealer that actually wants to sell me a Lightning! They actually have one on the lot that almost meets my wants list, but in less than an hour found one that hits all my request list. He did not say if it was a dealer trade or the EV replenishment...
  17. Winter Trip Report: Seattle to Whistler BC

Sounds like a good trip! As long time truck owner (since 2003, a Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 crew cab, and a Toyota before that), I can assure you that watching vertical height is something that you have to pay attention to. A large number of garages in downtown Los Angeles are 6' 5" up to 6' 8". That...
  18. Farley believes he knows how to beat the Chinese on EVs

Unfortunately if you want / need a reasonably full size pickup, there is very little to choose from. The Rivan is a mid size - as would be a Maverick if Ford builds that. About the only other full size is the Chevy and it is so darn expensive. Note, when I say "full size", still can't get a...
  19. How can I remove ice from inside the truck’s charge cord receptacle

Move to someplace that does not get that cold. Sorry, couldn't resist - I don't do snow...
  20. Don't leave your truck in neutral with the truck -OFF- it will drain your LVB

Mr.Magoo said in his original post that all his logger etc was running off an external battery: I'm curious (somewhat unrelated to this thread) if the external battery is completely stand alone, or does it eventually charge from the truck when running or plugged in, or something else. Reason...
