From the threads that detail adding the lighted lightbar the black "lightbar" is a molded portion of the grill. Its possible you could mount it but you will need to cut it off the factory grill and make mounts for it.
For the value you lose in hacking up the factory grill its probably better to...
True, although I will say that in my quick analysis of speeds that One, ABRP does know the distance from the roadway and accounts for the normal time it takes to drive it, and Two I added an additional 5 minutes of overhead to each charging stop (from 5 to 10 minutes "lost"). It still was...
@TaxmanHog will have to correct me if I'm wrong but I thought he only observed battery heating to maintain temp if you had it set for departure times. Without those the battery was just allowed to get cold.
Manual driver here, in fact my vehicle before my lighting was a 2021 Tacoma manual. I always slowed by downshifting.
I still don't like 1pd driving (for my use).
Turning 1pd drive OFF is the same as turning 2pd drive ON. 2pd drive is just NOT 1pd drive.
In the app ABRP you can set how much you speed. I tried various results starting at 85% the speed limit, and in the end even going 130% the speed limit (91 in a 70) you still arrived at your destination earlier. Now, you charged more, I think one trip went from 6 stops to 9 or 10, but still...
GDN and I were just talking about this. He says there is no reason to leave the truck running, the downloads will continue even if you turn the truck off. I have no reason to doubt his expertise here, I'll just say there is no harm in trying.
I have left mine running while at work (turning off...
I expected that due to the 12v draw, the cellular modem may not be continuously powered if the truck was turned off.
I know that the update availability and frequency is determined on Fords end, however updates essentially stalled for multiple months and only resumed when I happened to run the...
I can guarentee that you HAVE received software updates, you just are not sure if you will receive THIS ONE. You bought your truck, but if you bought it for features you you might get that you didn't even know of back then, well that isn't Fords fault when you are disappointed.
The hardware HAS...
Standard big business issues, and a "don't shoot the messanger" situation.
I also very much would love to know these things but my guess is that because they have not been tested against all previous software and hardware versions on th22-24 trucks the two guys who get to feed info the the...
Leave your truck running for a few hours in an area with good cellular reception.
I would say try this once or twice a month for a few months and see what happens. As it was explained on here, all updates are downloaded via cellular, but only when the truck is running.
Well this was helpful, thanks.
On that note
Truck purchased in August, first update was October iirc.

The Lightning 1pd drive will use the mechanical brakes instead of regen if it detects the tires slipping. I monitored the brake line pressure during our last snowstorm and when in 1pd drive and aggressively releasing the throttle you could see the brake line pressure spiking the instant the...
When you provide facts instead of you yourself just claiming you have, then we can get somewhere. Continuing to claim so just shows how weak your arguments are.
" “regenerative braking” is what I said when I called in “drag”, in order to simply and describe the feeling users experience."
This...
So lets address that.
1. There is no DRAG effect using 1pd driving. You can possibly slow down, by regenrative braking, in the exact same way using the brake pedal provides. Yes, if you let off the accelerator you slow down, which is different than in 2pd driving, but that is literally the...
There is no "out-navigate" the "drag effect". There is no drag effect, 1pd drive is regen, which is slowing the vehicle. Which is exactly the same as if you slow the vehicle without 1pd drive. And truth be told, I DON'T drive in 1pd drive, but even for me the only time spent is remembering to...
