I believe nearly every EV does it this way. Bolt, rivian, Tesla, they all do it this way.
I highly doubt any evidence manufacture is going to just throw away massive amounts of "free" energy
Is the work charger 110v maybe? Battery heating on the charger at home but not at the work charger?
I'm guessing the mi/kwh between the drive to work, and the drive home, is similar? You don't work at the top of a mountain do you?
What in the world are you talking about? This is the most imprecise and ambiguous statement I have ever seen.
1pd drive and the brake pedal BOTH enact regeneration to slow the vehicle, they both do, there is no difference if you do one or the other.
My issue is the transition off of cruise, specifically that if I am disabling cruise I am doing so to slow down, but likely not as much as 1pd drive does. In that case I don't want to put my foot on the gas pedal to find the right "spot" between acceleration and deceleration that I am seeking...
My driving is almost exclusively not-heavily trafficked highways or rural roads. I can absolutely see the utility of 1pd in heavy traffic and could possibly see myself using it more if it wasn't for how cruise and 1pd drive interact, at least in how I use the car (and I use cruise a LOT)...
Tesla posted that Supercharging had very minimal effects on battery lifespan.
Longevity won't be noticed in percent SOC or kw/hr (mi/kwh?), those will look the same if you do or don't have batter degradation. The only way to tell is to check the software BMS (if you trust it) or a very specific...
Seriously? I cannot imagine choosing a gas car over my Lightning in the winter now. No warmup, no wait for heat, drives proper right away, no worry about the engine or transmission, no need to leave it running, its absolutely fantastic. The range is a bit shorter, but other than that it is...
I don't think anyone is questioning the use of home charging instead of a public DCFC, its more that you don't/won't drive anywhere that could require using a charger, severely limiting the utility of the truck. Saving $0.17 per KWH is smart, but thats a hard sell if you need two vehicles to...
Same
Could be, I just received this one too.
So yet another update.
Did a 2 hour drive yesterday. At this point I'm just going to leave the truck run for a couple hours straight every week and see if I eventually catch up. I must just not drive enough to consistently download updates.
That's not an answer and I really hope you know it.
Yes, Tesla can make software, AND a charging network. The fact that we can use their NETWORK but without their SOFTWARE proves those two things are separate from each other.
This is just inane at this point
Yes, we know aboutt he software, but there ARE alternatives. You still can use their trip planning tools, you still can use their plug and charge, you can start a charge without another app or subscription.
To claim the software IS the network is false, they are two RELATED but distinctly...
Do you think that they built the "Blue Oval Network" but did NOT contribute? That they just told EA "hey, we are calling your chargers the Ford network, ok thanks". If they entered into a partnership then they DID contribute. And why are you saying they don't need Ford branded chargers, but...
Why on earth would Ford need to create its own charging network? Because Tesla did? Tesla built its network out of necessity—there were virtually no chargers at the time. That was over a decade ago. In 2025, with nearly 70,000 chargers in existance, the idea that Ford needs its own branded...
For sure, I have absolutely seen charging att heat to the battery. A surprising amount.
Twice now I have checked the battery during charging and the temp was into the 60s when charging alone could not have accounted for adding that much heat.
The truck is sitting in the garage now, maybe I'll...
I'm not saying it worked...but it worked.
I'm out of here boys,up and out to better pastures, on to the 6.8.0 thread and not stuck here with you loosers! (All said in good fun ;) )
I feel like TaxmanHog's inputs deserve YT style clickbait titles. "90% of Forum users don't know these 3 simple tricks"
....but what happens when I have so many bookmarks that I need to complain about a way to figure out which bookmark I need?....
Back to my hole, stay frozen folks.
