To go off topic for a moment, but this is where I hope to see AI implemented. We can sit here and figure out exactly how the heater strategies of the Lightning works, and that info will be lost in 3 days as the thread ages out, or gains 5 more pages. Some AI retrieval tool within the search...
I mean, its nowhere near that. Its not 20 minutes, it can be 5 if you want it to be. I also have not found a trip where I have to figure out IF there are chargers on the route, and I'm hardly driving the EV mechas of the east or west coasts. The worst I have seen is one one trip I took an...
If you cannot use the built-in navigation then it IS a failure of the truck. Yes, we all know better ways to go about this, but if the truck nav says it provides those features then it should actually provide them.
I have to be honest, the folks here are kind of being jerks about it.
First of all, sorry to hear your trip is not going as well as you would like. Been there, it sucks.
I will agree that the Ford Nav SHOULD be all you need, but honestly I don't use mine because I cannot trust it.
It would be helpful if you could tell us where you are going. Maybe the route...
This IS the same company that did not include a trailer brake controller if you bought the MAX TOW option.
Which they did change eventually, but now you do not get a controller if you buy the TOW TECH package...
No tow tech (wheel on dash) then no 360 camera.
No keypad and no walk up entry, you have to use the button on the key fob.
No adaptive cruise, also no lane centering.
I love my pro er.
Sorry, I was being flippant and too short in details.
As it was explained here updates only download by cellular. Since I don't have any reception at home I need to drive/run the truck where there is cell signal in order to download the updates.
Oh boy...I get to contribute to this thread now...
(If you didn't catch it that was sarcasm)
Update scheduled for later.
Crap cell reception at my house but I did let the truck run for a few hours in town friday. Is that why I'm getting this now (shrug).
I might just leave the truck...
Did you get lost here?
You were the one who said you DID NOT need time, it was ME who said time was a component.
The quantity of energy IS the efficiency. The quantity of energy needed to complete the same drive. That is literally the mi/kwh we are talking about, the quantity of energy for a...
Let's try this another way then.
You are taking a mass and giving it kinetic energy, and a little heat. Conservation of energy states that you cannot apply different amounts of energy to two identical systems but achieve the same result. So provided the efficiency of the drivetrain stays the...
Hmm, I will need to look at mine but I would swear my truck is heating the battery to 60 during charging. Mine was near freezing when I started charging.
Frankly, it's frustrating, even with the -4 today my garage was just under 40 degrees. I would prefer to not heat my battery every time I...
I don't live in the frozen wilds anymore, but I used to.
I have had it happen to me, and OP had it happen to him. Just because it didn't happen to you, or does not happen every time, does not mean it does not ever happen.
The only time a windshield is perfect is before it's installed. But that...
Of the ones I have seen that decouple the front motor they claim to do so during steady state driving, but that does not mean they do so under acceleration, even light or moderate acceleration. The effect of decoupling the motor is very slight and arguably would be insignificant in the 10-30...
High heat on a cold windshield is well know to cause cracking. The issue isn't expanding or contracting, its that one area is hot and expanding and the rest is cold and NOT. This also applies to the layers of glass too, with the inside layer being hotter than the outside layers.
FWIW I was...
The big thing here though is that and EV drivetrain doesn't really change efficiency when pressed hard, and ICE drivetrain does greatly.
Although when accelerating hard you use more current, you do so for a shorter period of time, and hence the energy consumed isn't really much different that...
