  1. Cold Weather, Hot Data: Heater Power Usage and Exterior Temp

Funny you mention that, I rarely use sport mode but did use it for about half the drive home. With power limited by temp down to 92% (at 80%soc) i would think Sport mode would be more likely to heat the battery. That said, i did switch to normal and tow/haul once I was home and in the 30...
  2. Cold Weather, Hot Data: Heater Power Usage and Exterior Temp

Outside was high 20s (F), battery temp min was 28, max was 35, and reported "temp" was 30. Truck had been outside for 8 hours. Power was limited to 92% for my entire 20 minute drive home. Coolant Inlet temp stayed at ambient, heater power usage was only for hvac (turning hvac off had power...
  3. Cold Weather, Hot Data: Heater Power Usage and Exterior Temp

Yeah What is unusual to me is that Auto 1 appears to use more energy than Auto 3. Of note, today when leaving work with cold soaked battery the heating system did not warm the battery, even though power was even limited due to temp.
  4. Cold Weather, Hot Data: Heater Power Usage and Exterior Temp

Short drive testing Auto 1 vs Auto 3 in 7 degrees F. Beginning is warmup as I left my house. The second bit, 735-745, was Auto 3 at 70mph (ish). The beginning of the third bit (747-75) was Auto 1, also at 70mph (ish). The last bit was Auto 3 again.
  5. Stay in SPORT when truck turned off

Oh, he has been plenty vocal on his dislike of this situation. LOL My guess is that out of the 12 stages of loss he has reached the acceptance stage.
  6. Headlight Taillight Wiring Mystery

https://www.f150lightningforum.com/forum/threads/modifiers-guide-for-f-150-lightning-diagrams-wiring-charging-information.11862/post-377235 Not sure if this will help but it's a good place to start
  7. Does anyone else have door rubbing when driving?

Adjusting the door hinge changed the panel alignment by an imperceptible amount. You would need a ruler to see errors in the alignment before or after.
  8. Cold Weather, Hot Data: Heater Power Usage and Exterior Temp

Yes. But the volume itself does not contribute to heat loss, only it's contact with the surfaces around the volume. Given two volumes of air, but the same amount of surface contact, the only difference would be a slight bit more energy to get the large volume UP to temp. The volume of air itself...
  9. Cold Weather, Hot Data: Heater Power Usage and Exterior Temp

To be honest, I'm not sure. It's not a setting i change so I did not pay any special attention to it.
  10. Anyone using airbags for hauling with Lightning?

My god man, it's like FIVE MINUTES to adjust the headlights. It's something you should do anyways. Putting in a leveling kit has less effect on the lights than hooking up a trailer, but i doubt you adjust your lights every time you hook up. Hauling some mulch is more likely to blind other...
  11. Cold Weather, Hot Data: Heater Power Usage and Exterior Temp

Still working on the data, but from the data above even 70 degree interior with a 12 degree exterior, and JVAC at auto 3 is 11 miles of range lost per hour. 25 degrees outside, 70 inside, and auto 1 is closer to 7 miles per hour. But, more than a 500w space heater for sure. Interior volume...
  12. Want to level... to raise or to lower?

From the few reports we have seen, leveling alone increases range. The large "wedge" space underneath likely draws air in from the sides, increasing drag.
  13. Cold Weather, Hot Data: Heater Power Usage and Exterior Temp

Hey everyone, we had a great conversation about heater usage the other day, so I thought I’d share my latest findings with you all. Background: I’m conducting some specific tests to assess the impact of tire pressure on efficiency (more on that later), and tracking heater usage is a key part...
  14. Anyone using airbags for hauling with Lightning?

For that one time you need to re-level the headlights?
  15. Anyone using airbags for hauling with Lightning?

If only that hesdlight thing could be easily fixed, like in less than 5 minutes... Ironic as well considering the "load stance" causes the headlights to be blinding when you put a load on it, specifically when he is talking about how to NOT have the angle of the truck change when loading it...
  16. Driver Alert Hates Me

Does your truck yell at you when NOT using BlueCruise? Say when using regular cruise or lane centering?
  17. 22 Lariat will not DC Charge or Level 2 Charge

@Ford Motor Company , it seems a member is in need of some help. Can you offer an assist? Op, I would see if Ford might ve able to get it moved to an EV friendly dealer. Maybe that isn't close, but it seems a bit of a drive to get your truck fixed is better than no drive to NOT have your truck...
  18. Driver's seat slightly loose? (2024 Flash)

I had a slight popping/creaking that sounded just like a slightly lose bolt. Mine was under acceleration and deceleration. I tightened the mounting bolts with no fix. The solution was putting lubricant on a variety of components under the seat. There are a few threads here on the topic that...
  19. 2023 ER Lariat Heater Went Out Just as Winter Hit

I second the comment that suspects an air bubble inside the system. I believe that those who have experienced it have had the bubble work itself out. I would recomend running the truck for a long period, driving it if you can, and maybe finding a bumpy road. I don't expect it will be an instant...
  20. Does anyone else have door rubbing when driving?

You have it. You want to move the top of the door frame in towards the body, to tighten up the pressure on the seals. When you losen the bolt you need to move the door inward, towards where you are standing, towards the body/cab. There is not a huge amount of movement, maybe just a few mm in...
