Yup - been there. Coming home across upstate NY on I-90 from Canada we hit some significant headwinds and cold, plus some light snow for fun. I was getting 1.0 mi/kwh at 70mph. Thankfully NY has lots of charging options so it just mean more stops.
To me (as an ER owner), given you are in Florida the SR should be fine for the use case you laid out. If you plan to do a lot of longer road trips (over 350 miles one way) with it the ER might be worth it to reduce the number of charging stops.
I wouldn't worry about battery degradation, our...
Skye - all of my vehicles end up with female names but I struggled for a bit on the Lightning until I was driving along and noticed that the paint job (Iced Blue Silver) exactly matched the sky in my mirror and I could barely tell where one ended and the other began.
I have been through several types and currently have a Ford branded version of this:

It has been my favorite and has held up very well. It is very heavy duty (you can walk on / sit on it, snow load is no issue, etc.). No rattles or...
For my issue I was told it was $45/day limit and a max of 10 days, but nothing on it having to be a Ford product (we did anyways). I was also told to expect 2-3 months for the reimbursement.
Unknown at this time. They tried to claim leakage from the dash area (i.e. spilled drink), but I have never had a drink or any liquid up there. The only liquid I can think is from the sunroof and other roof leaks I have had.
I did, they would not. They did point me at the extended warranty I have which will cover some of the rental costs (max of $450). That hasn't processed through yet, but I removed it from the total.
Got the diagnosis from my dealer - fried audio control module due to water intrusion / corrosion. Which of course means it isn't covered by warranty. Another $872 into the truck.
So between repair costs and the hotel / rental we had to get when it died in D.C. we have spent over $4,000 on this...
Random thought based on all of the leaking issues I had a few weeks ago. Could water have gotten into one of antenna "pods" and shorted out both the Audio and GPS systems?
Sorry, no idea how they are wired or if that makes any sense.
I will just chime in that last weekend I tried using the Ford navigation in my Wife's mach-e for a trip as we were only at 23% battery leaving our location (no charging there) and I thought Ford might do the best at picking from between a few fast charging options I saw to optimized time.
Ford...
Nope - No Buc-ees up here yet as far as I have seen, but I have heard about them!
It wasn't the breaks, it was the traffic. I think what it really shows is that real world travel impacts can be much more than any delays for charging.
Ok - I just realized this morning that my truck isn't getting a GPS location (built in map shows the truck in the middle of the ocean with a blinking '?' on it). That explains hands-free not engaging and the clock not wanting to auto-update since it can't figure out what time zone it is in...
Oh, interesting anecdotal data point for all the EV FUD out there. Trip down and back to get my truck was almost exactly 400 miles each way - nominally a 6 hour non-stop drive. Our rental ICE F150 had the large fuel tank and made the trip without refueling, still with bio-breaks and traffic it...
