I have a '24 Pro and I just installed a FitCamX that plugs into the mirror harness. Camera gets power and the mirror still dims.
Does/did your Pro mirror automatically dim at night prior to the camera install attempt? Does it work now if you connect it normally without the camera bypass...
I'm not disputing that. If you try to make a trip right now, you have to detour way down into Colorado and then back up to Interstate 80. It would be nice if there was more chargers to make up the slack.
Actually, more chargers is always good for everywhere. There are Walmarts along I-80, and...
I was using my Lightning charging settings in ABRP to see if that part of the trip was possible. Plugshare does show Tesla-only chargers through that section, so they do have the ability to make it.
It's still baffling to me that a major cross-country interstate highway like I-80 still has...
I am currently traveling across WY with my dad in his ICE car. There's no DCFC between Rock Springs and Cheyenne. 264 miles between DCFC but due to wind, topography, etc., it's pretty much not able to be done in any mainstream EV. What I did see while traveling on I-80 are Wal-Marts. I hope this...
Without any exaggeration, I have had the exact opposite experience. Maybe a dozen EA DCFC vs about 2 dozen Tesla DCFC between my old Mach-e and now my Lightning.
Every EA station has had some sort of issue from having to start the session twice because the "handshake" phase never stopped, to...
Sounds like the tech ran your 12-volt battery down while doing the updates. I predict that you will get a new 12 volt or a recharge and they'll give you your truck back.
Yup, the initial burst with the new charging programming (OTA last year sometime?) consistently goes into the 180's for the first 5-10 minutes. I have only seen it with Tesla DCFC, never that high with EA.
I saw the same Tesla sign (30 min general parking) when I charged yesterday at the Forks, WA Tesla station. Now I know it's not an anomaly. I sure hope it's not the beginning of a trend.
^^ This...
Actually, 1.2 mpk is still low... I got 1.6 mpk doing 80+ mph on I-90 going charger to charger through Montana in the fall. Exclusive freeway driving will get you low mpk, but 1.2 is still lower than "normal".
If you get similar efficiency to me, you should be able to make your trip one way without having to stop, as long as you are at 100% SOC when you leave your house.
If you are allowed/able to L2 charge where you are staying, you can get to 100% for the return trip home. If not, I would plan on...
I should have added that I was able to keep my trailer attached while I charged at the Tesla charger in Forks. I did exactly as you say and took the left most spot that was facing sideways instead of the usual pulling up towards the charger with the front of the truck. The total length of the...
I posted a much abbreviated version in the "Towing/Hauling/Trailering" section under the Data Thread sticky.
Truck:
2024 Lightning Pro ER Max Tow
Trailer:
2018 JayFlight 242BHSW, ~6500 lbs for this test
Efficiency:
Ford dash: 0.9 mi/kwh
ABRP towing profile calibrated consumption: 0.96 mi/kwh...
