  1. Heard him coming long before I saw him, but I got the shot. Wish I had a better camera though!

300 SL in front of my property. It's on a fun to drive road, so we see plenty of sports cars but this one was sublime and smelled like a racetrack...
  2. And then there were two!

Keeping my Atlas Blue Lariat but Bosslady was jelly so we got her one too. Stone grey XLT ER for about $52k. Welcome to the family Lightning Numero 2
  3. 2 Lighnings instead of one? Hard to say no with the deals I see you guys getting. Who's got the best priced XLT ER in the PNW right now?

Gotta be ER, no black or white, everything else is flexible. Looks like folks are seeing $22.5k+ off some of these trucks plus I'd qualify for the Tesla conquest cash ($1500) as a current Y Performance owner :) Just feeling things out, would consider a Lariat at at least the same discount but...
  4. Possible to create a standalone 30A shop power/breaker box that has an extension cord or pigtail to run off the Pro Power in the bed?

I have a shop that is farther from grid power than I really want to trench, and it has a single, old 15A breaker running (underground) currently. I have some tools that want a bit more juice than that, and it occurs to me that any time I am at the shop, my truck is as well. Is it...
  5. I have a Blink mini pan/tilt camera and don't know how to set the truck hotspot up?

A good Sunday to you fine folks. I have a Blink mini pan and tilt camera that can plug into USB or 120v and needs a WiFi network to operate (so you can't just stream to a phone like I thought I could when I bought it, oops). If I am not mistaken, the truck has a WiFi hotspot. Can anyone here...
  6. Ice, not ICE; not nice.

I think my nose is running...
  7. Pimp My Charge Station Pro...

I didn't love the appliance white and it lives in the shade, so... :)
  8. 9AM; SmartCap install. 10:30AM in the Snow Zone!

Love it! Looks so good on this truck and a perfect fit. Will review further once I get a few miles on and see if it is waterproof... Zap!
  9. Will ICE Lariat OEM seat skins/covers fit F150 Lightning Lariat seats?

Looking at seat covers since the leather isn't wearing well, and found these. They are CHEAP and I prefer the black leather over the two-tone in my Lariat. Anyone know if these are compatible, or are the seats differently shaped enough that this is a fool's errand...
  10. Consumer Reports Real-World EV range test, 22 EVs tested for range; F150 Lightning tested worst (50 miles less range than EPA estimate/claim)

They got 270 miles with it instead of 320, fairly similar to my experience. What do you think, is the current rating system fair, or does EPA need to change testing to better align with real-world conditions? Did Ford optimize the truck for the EPA test...
  11. RSI SmartCap on a Lightning?

Has anyone put a SmartCap Evo Sport on their Lightning yet? They sell them for the current F150 ( part# EV0306-MB ) , so I am assuming they would fit our bed as well, then, correct? Thanks for any insights and advice, don't want to buy a $4500 topper that leaks because the bed has some...
  12. It cost me 18.47 times as much to fuel my old truck. This is AMAZING... :o

I didn't understand just how much EVs would save us in gas... my 2019 RAM 1500 with the HEMI got 11.6 mpg average over my ownership, and I figured $4.50 a gallon was about the average I paid for premium fuel during my ownership. Here's an interesting snapshot of how much less it costs to charge...
  13. I live on a mountain, charge to 90% and end up at 93-94% by the time I get down into town. If I charge to 100%, what happens to the extra energy?

I like that the truck has regen, and I generally get 3-4% charge by the time I have descended over 1500' of elevation. I typically charge to 90% as recommended, but if I were to charge to 100%, how would the truck manage the excess power it would generate on the way down? Would it just use the...
  14. Am I blind, or are there no lower front bed tie-downs?

Not my first truck; I've had Toyota, RAM and a gas F150 before... pretty sure *all* of them had a lower front tie-down. People who use trucks for truck things know these are important for safely holding down materials longer than the bed. I need to go pick up some flat 12' materials (boards and...
  15. Don't expect great efficiency if you live up a mountain

Bought a mannequin with about 2500 miles on it; here's my efficiency over the subsequent 3500 miles. I live about 1500 feet above town and between that and the big Mickey Thompsons I'm getting 1.2 mi/kw average... Not what I hoped for but still love this truck.
  16. Help please! Rear passenger window won't roll up?

Truck was fine yesterday, charged to 100% last night to do weekend things without charging. I was getting ready to hop in to run into town, and went to crack all 4 windows to get it cooling a bit, when the rear passenger window went *all the way down* after I had released all 4 buttons (and the...
  17. Turns out you really can charge a Tesla from a Lightning ⚡

New Tesla Y Performance came half-charged; no Tesla charger at home, so I took it from 43% to 90% in maybe 6 hrs running off the 240v ProPower in the bed ... not a permanent solution, but way faster than 120v home charging. I will repeat the test again with better time and power notes, but it...
