There is a documented bug with some adapters connecting via Forscan. Just put a USB hub between the adapter and your laptop. Fixed my issue and word every time now.

Just FYI - Three on the tree is something different. Three on the tree is an H pattern manual transmission (with a clutch) mounted on the column (three forward gears + reverse). Technically a column shifter but not the same as PRNDL automatic column shift.
