I'm bringing my truck in on Thursday the 7th. So I bought the cables exactly as listed in the tsb, I'm leaving them in the drivers door pocket for the tech, and I've written a note to him folded it and wrapped it over the ODB port with rubber band and a $20.00

I took mine into the dealership. He flat out told me that they make commission based on how many repairs they can make. Since the update fix takes too damn long. They tend to put it off to the side and some techs just don’t like it ??‍

Mine is going in Thursday, I asked if they had the correct cables to do the job. He checked and said yes we do. I can just about guess which way this is going to go.

I dropped mine off this morning for the OTA update. They expect to get it back to me today. According to the service tech Ford halted the trailer brake module recall on Friday. The fix was causing some new problems.

My truck is the first for them to run the TSB on. So far, 4 failures, they are not giving up but it doesn't look like I get it back today.

I did this TSB today. Found that I needed to use the usb cable first, then the network cable when asked. It updated both the APIM and TCU. APIM usb update took right away afterward. Success! ECU thread has a video posted of the procedure.

My truck is at the dealer..........They are contacting ford for the failure........I will post with any updates.......My truck has the Bluecruise hardware

After 7 days at the dealer, still no OTA update. They keep getting a U3000 failure on the APIM. They are ordering an APIM.

Dealer spent two days trying to update mine and gave up; sent it home. I noticed that my Sync version is now 20312_PRODUCT, Revision 243 and the auto-update toggle functions. Prior to this my software version was blank, and the toggles didn't work.

Looks like they were able to get you unstuck, but didnt update the software your version is the as built or factory install, an updated version will begin with 21xxx or 22xxx the first 2 digits in the version are the release date year. Mines at the dealer right now and I'm battling with them to update the modules. ?
