Hi all,
For anyone who has the wireless phone charging pad in the front console, how is yours working? Mine doesn’t really seem to charge my iPhone all that well, and it makes my phone really hot.

My iPhone charges and operates fine. It can get warm when charging from a low level and CarPlay active, but not excessively hot. I have an iPhone 14 plus. I place it with its screen facing up, the top of phone toward drivers side, and I push the phone all the way to the passenger side of the charging mat. I also let the iPhone screen go to sleep when it is on the charging tray.

That’s disappointing. It seems like such an easy thing not to screw up.

Interesting. I wonder if I can get it to work better. I have a regular sized iphone. Whichever is the most recent model. Maybe a non-slip matt to get it to stay centered on the charger.

I have found this placement for me to work as well! (15 pro)It’s not a great charger but it works OK…of course my phone is usually on CarPlay (glad Ford chose to keep CarPlay as many others are not ) so even with the screen in sleep mode…it still does not seem to be a rapid charger but could be my case as well as I don’t take it off to charge.

My Samsung S23 FE charges quite well on the wireless pad.

Works fine.

If you have a case or cover over your phone then don't expect it to work properly.

I pulled the fuse on mine. I was experiencing a lot of noise while using bluetooth on my Samsung S24+. Pulling the fuse ended the noise.

Mine works but sometimes it's tricky to get it to charge, seems like if your phone has a decent charge it won't charge. I wonder if the iPhone battery overcharge protection affects it.

I don’t keep a case on mine at all. It doesn’t seem to stay securely in one place. I wonder if the charging coil is positioned such that the phone needs to be centered on the pad.

I don't bother with it. My s23 kept getting too hot and the Android Auto works 50% of the time on wireless. I have to plug it in via USB-C. I put the phone in the phone slot next to the shifter

I have an LG G6 with no case, and it sees the wireless charger when initially placed there and begins to charge, but within seconds it shows it is no longer charging.

Only once or twice it kept charging, so I just don't bother with it.
