I'm guessing they only replaced it under warranty because it was throwing codes and had corrosion? Probably just having a cracked taillight wouldn't be enough.

I don’t think so. They initially tried to just replace the taillight but the sensor could not be reused due to the water damage.

Either I’m very lucky, or new guidance has been issued regarding the taillights.

This is my first Ford vehicle, and honestly this whole experience has been incredibly frustrating and disheartening.

Seeing more and more owners in this thread with the exact same rear tail lamp crack/moisture issue makes it even harder to accept Ford’s position that this is just customer-caused impact damage. At some point, when the same crack pattern and moisture intrusion keep showing up on multiple trucks, consumers should not be the ones stuck paying out of pocket.

What really bothers me is that owners are being treated inconsistently. Some people get denied, some people get replaced, and the rest of us are left fighting over what looks like the same issue. That does not feel fair, and it definitely does not make me feel like Ford is standing behind its product.

@Ford Motor Company owners should not have to pay for what appears to be a recurring defect, and we should not have to fight this hard just to be treated fairly.

I just took mine in to Ford dealer. No visible damage to my rear drivers side tail light. 2022 Lightning Pro. Condensation visible, and last week i got the BLIS/cross traffic alert fault. Got call today that Ford denied my claim because of water intrusion. They are quoting $3700 for the repair/replacement! I would love any help how to proceed with this! @Ford Motor Company this is a serious issue that many are having and its not just aesthetic lights - its a critical safety component. I know we have some Ford insiders on here. Please PM me because I am a Ford Loyalist. I've been here since day one of the Lightning Program. One of the first to order and recieve a 2022 Pro and have been a strong advocate for Ford and their EV program. I've convinced many to buy your EVS. I nnow need your help navigating this mess!

Nice! Make sure they give you the correct replacement tail light. They replaced mine with one for a lariat or a platinum.

Well they said Ford wa caused outside contact. The dealer said it was defective. He sent pictures to Ford and they still denied it. The manager said he going to speak to a representative that visits dealers. Fingers crossed.

Can you take a photo of the light from where the tailgate closes. The same crack seems to be appearing at the top of the light and can hairline fracture into the black. Maybe @Ford Motor Company will actually reach out to us since this issue is still present and the warranty and GSB claims have been dependent on who you deal with.
