3rd rear light bar has water and reverse lights blinking

Well just started today. Had 1st one replaced under recall, then that one replaced under warranty. Now this one should be covered under the 2 year parts warranty. Pretty crazy it keeps happening.

Not unusual. I am on my third and is holding. Ford claims that the installation was done improperly.
It all started from the factory but they, Ford, caught it when they started replacing them numerous times.
Let your dealer know that you need another tail light bar. Hopefully this one may be your last one. Mine, the third one, holding pretty well, so far.

Dealership said to call after May 18, they should have the parts.

They also said if the recall doesn’t fix the reverse light flickering, which is specifically mentioned in the recall, that I would be on the hook for diagnostic fees

The flickering is part of the malfunction of the light bar. That is how my first light bar was operating. Pretty much the moisture that is retained inside the light bar gets corroded and funny things start happening when LEDs short to ground. It takes very little amperage and voltage to mess things up.
Just tell the dealer to replace the light bar properly by the guidelines of Ford instructions. They have been burned replacing so many of them. Certainly was the thought to eliminate that bar from some trims.

Thanks, i just have TERRIBLE luck with dealership service departments, so when they allow caveats into conversation, usually it's to prime me with the expectation that they will try to swindle a diagnostic fee, or some type of "rat damage" as they usually have done in the past in this city, Other parts of the country, fantastic service. Well….today I took another look at that light bar. Guess what…..it has some moisture in it. It works now but soon it will start to misbehave.
I expect another replacement is coming soon.
Let us see how good of sealing installation the dealer will perform this time. I will ask if they can perform the replacement using their mobile service perk.
