Has anyone had the rear lightbar get water in it after the recalled version? I have a 22 lariat that got water in it right after I bought it in 22 then had it happen again right before the recall. I was driving earlier this week and got pulled over because the rear bright white lights were on and flashing on and off. When I went back to look the ligntbar was half full of water again. I love this truck but scared to have to replace the light bar so often when it is so expensive after the warranty expires.

I learned my lesson with my 21 F150, get the extended warranty with lighting option. The cost of 2 light assemblies is all it takes to cover the extended warranty.

Man that is a bummer, Chevy had the same problem for several years until they got it right.

Get a warranty it will differently be better paying an $100 deductible, rather than a $900 fine for light being on the…?

I haven't had this issue but I'm concerned about it since I've seen it a lot. Does anyone know how the water gets in? Is it from pressure washing a certain spot too long, or is it just from general rain while driving, or is it a condensation issue?

I get that it's a defect and shouldn't happen at all but I'm just trying to see if there is something I can do to help prevent the issue from coming up.

I had mine replaced under Recall 23S30 in September 2023. I am currently waiting on a dealership appointment to replace it again due to moisture and the back-up lights not working. I have an extended warranty. If the dealership does not replace it again under the recall, I will file a NHTSA safety complaint.

I am just now in the same boat as you (and feel like @powercatnewt jinxed us!!). I would recommend that everyone with this problem post-recall work submit another NHTSA complaint each and every time that this happens. It is the only way that NHTSA and Ford are going to know that NHTSA Campaign No. 23V4180000 was not resolved. This is the only way that we can get NHTSA to order another recall so that we do not have to pay in the future as many of our trucks will then be out of warranty.

Query: Do we know if any of the late 2023 or 2024 builds have had this issue?

I just had this happen to my 2023 for a 2nd time - walked around my truck to see my white tail lights half out and flickering. Upon closer inspection saw half a centimeters of water sitting in the lights. I'm also getting an error on the dash about a "charge leak" that im guessing is related.

This happened before about 12-18 months ago and they were replaced by Ford. Definitely a concern now that I might be out of warranty.

That's a different lightbar, and Ford had that same issue for years (I had it on my 2013). This is the lightbar on the tailgate.

I'm just curious but is there been any relation between how the vehicle is washed compared to water intrusion?

Interesting question, not sure mine is washed any special way, I know it's not washed too frequently but does go through the car wash. It is stored outside but I live in Southern California and we have very little rain.

Why isn't anyone removing a working out of warranty light bar with condensation and drilling strategic holes in the back/bottom, then heating up the light bar enough to aid in drying the inside then filling the light bar with epoxy?
