Even after snotty answers in multiple chats on the DualLiner website, I purchased their product. A short time later I got a backordered email (with no notice during purchase), so canceled it and I bought the BedRug instead.

Having opened it in preparation of the truck coming, I have a few concerns:

1. It seems pretty lightweight. Has anyone had durability issues with hauling loose materials like sand, soil, etc...?

2. Does it make sent to add a rubber mat over it on the floor of the bed?

3. I don't want the tailgate cover, and did not know it was integral. I contacted RealTruck and they pointed me to BedRug. BedRug support said removing it will void the warranty. They suggested to either de-velcro it when I need the work surface (with the caveat that the velcro will wear out), or remove the work surface and install it underneath, installing the surface over it. Any suggestion on resolving this by cutting it off (or others?)?

PM meā€¦I have installed the original version in my truck, tailgate portion under the work surface. We can meet up if you want to look it over and discuss what I learnedā€¦ā€¦.

I installed the bedrug. Curious to hear more about your under the work surface install.

Yeah, I had it perfectly placed, was putting the work surface back, and then realized there are positioning tabs molded into the work surface that fit into holes in the tailgate that I didnā€™t see (long dayā€¦got a little rushed at the end). I didnā€™t punch holes in the surface of the BedRug to accommodate them and it left me two buldgesšŸ™ƒ as I reintalled the Torx screws.

It forced me to pull the surface back off to punch the holes for the tabs, and thus reposition the rug. I already had the top row of Velcro set on the tailgate and reinstalling the work surface ā€œtuggedā€ on themā€¦.and is now pulling on them (See photo). I need to get some more Velcro and reinstall that top row to clean it up.

Other than that, Iā€™m happy with my outcomeā€¦ā€¦.

Ford has it 20% off until the 9th with the Ford logo (instead of BedRug). RealTruck should discount it as well.

Garage Queen? šŸ¤”ā€¦more like a suburban babyā€¦..šŸ˜ƒ šŸ˜

No, not a lot, but after my last trip to the landfill, it washed out nicely with a straight-tip pressure nozzle (at water system pressure), a stiff broomšŸ¤“ and run over with the shop vacā€¦..we like to bed campā€¦ā€¦.

I installed bedrug's bed mat. Doesn't have a tailgate piece and I don't see the benefit of covering the vertical sides.

love my full bedrug - it is such a soft touch when you're on your knees in the bed... I've used it as a camping overnight 'bed' one night, even when it rained, with my ExtangEncore tri-fold tonnor for cover - no leaks.
I also had an existing bed mat, but you don't need one, and the BedRug already has it's own runner 'liners' to fill in the low points of the bed... it's sweet.

This is what I did, too. And for the same reasons.

I haven't done a spray-in liner yet. I'm gonna let it go for 6 months or so and make the decision then if I really need one. If I decide I do, I guess I'll have to reach out to bedrug to get new velcro pieces to re-install.

Where did it end? Does it drop between the bed and tailgate?

No, it just ends before the tailgate. To be honest it could do with a thicker end so it doesn't look ribbed where the sheet metal isn't, but I think it looks good regardless.
