Hey all. Hoping that some can give me some tips/tricks in regards to long trips. Truck is a 2022 ER Lariat. Active duty military so making the trip from Maine to Washington (state) which is right around 3,200 miles. It seems the route will be through the NE states, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, Montana, Idaho, Washington (Western). My current location I towed my early bronco with my old gas 2010 F150 (5.4L), I will be paying for shipping. Depending on the situation it will be 2 adults and 1 or 2 dogs (depending on timing). So roughly 450-500 lbs in people and pets. I would say maybe a cooler and some other gear. Rough guess lets just say conservatively 1000 lbs payload. The trip will be in May so temps should be better.

I typically am fine with heated seats and steering wheel. In addition, I am sure a big golden retriever will be heating the cabin :ROFLMAO:. I drive the speed limit and if possible draft when necessary.

Apple Maps with the new EV statistics show 3 days 3 hours with 26 stops.

Do you all recommend ABRP? Or is the new Apple Maps decent?

I am not thrilled with Fords rollout of the adapter. As an early buyer, I am around 20,000 in line for the adapter that ships in July. I called and asked if I could be prioritized due to my upcoming trip and they told me to pound sand.

Any preference in A2Z and Lectron?

Any guidance or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all!

I ordered the A2Z - you’ll want one for that trip. Yiu can use the code NACS2024 (pretty sure that’s what it was) for $30 off.

The payload won’t make much deference in efficiency. Speed is the single biggest factor. I’d keep to 70mph. You can use your weather app on your phone to check wind vectors. If you have a nice tail wind you can increase your speed a bit.
You’ll probably need to run the HVAC to keep the windshield clear. I find it comfortable to keep the heat 66. Once you’re at temp, it’s only using 2-3kW, so over, say a 150 mile stretch, you’ll lose 10-12 miles of range. With the super charger network, using heat shouldn’t be a problem.

Don't know about the Apple Maps but ABRP is great, although not quite as good as the Tesla app. Happy to let you borrow my adapter if I get it in time from Ford (I'm 8,500 ?). If you do use the Tesla Super chargers, remember that the charging cord is just a tad short so you may need to crab a bit sideways and take up two spots. Has anyone used an extension? (I know not really recommended but...)

ABRP is good, buy the full version for your travel month or a bit sooner to play with it. I used it for our Dec trip and given the nightmare of Bolts clogging EA stations I was happy to reroute and plan better return trip.

With 3 days, I'd try and get to hotels with overnight charging by destination tesla chargers, those adaptors are much cheaper. Carry your mobile and look for options to plug in for lunch and dinner locations.

A2z works great. If it gets down to it and your adapter less I'll be happy to loan you mine. I'm former Army and live in WA state. Keep me posted. Thanks for your service.
Appreciate it my friend! Great truck. Have maybe a few distance trips with a quick charge. It’s different as I’m going home eventually.

i am heading your way soon ! I’ve heard great things about PNW. (With some minor bad things). It seems kinda sim to Maine. Washington more fog and drizzle, maine more snow and cold. Seem similar.

You should like WA. I'm in Eastern Wa, which is an entirely different beast, more like living in Idaho. My son-in-law is stationed at Lewis McCord. He likes it much better than his previous duty station in Maryland. Be safe

West of the Cascades is the fog, rain, and drizzle, live in NE Wa and we still have snow on the ground. Like the 4 seasons. Much better Harley riding here than western Wa. Too wet for me.
