Well I got my Lightning back after being at the dealership for a week. Initial issue was Powertrain Malfunction and a false Alarm Trigger.

They replaced the Gear Shift Module, cleared all codes and completed the Loose Nut recall.

Today I when I tried to unlock the truck with my personal keypad code it failed.
Then I tried to use the master code and it failed also
Stage ting happened, When entering the master code, that included a # "7", the Truck attempts to lock, just like when you hit the lower 2 buttons on the keypad.

Now any time you hit just the "7" key it locks.

I erased and reset my personal code on the 15" screen. There is no change in behavior.

It's dark our now. tomorrow I will disconnect the 12v battery for a few minute sand se it it helps. I don't want to do it in the dark.

Has anyone had a similar issue? Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Of course it's Friday night and dealer service is closed until Monday AM.

Based on your description, the 8/9 button is stuck on. You might be able to get it unstuck by messing with it. Otherwise, a new keypad should fix it.

Thanks, That makes sense that the bottom button is stuck on. I’ll not try to get it unstuck. I’ll just let the dealer deal with it. If I get it fixed temporarily I can see it getting stuck again at an in opportune time.

Update:

Now even pushing # 7/8 has no reaction. The keypad is totally non responsive.

I sent a text to the Service Advisor Yesterday asking if they could send a tech the to my house or have valet pick it up. He said he is working on it.

Today I got a call from the dealer that they were sending out a tech to my house at 8AM tomorrow. I suggested that he may want to bring a keypad with him in case that is the cause f the issue.

The service that Sarasota Ford has provided is exceptional. Hopefully I'll get these minor issues behind me and reliability will improve. This is the 3rd service visit and one recall that the truck has needed in the first 90 days.

All issues are due to unrelated part failures.

I will report back

Update:
I will report back
Tech came out and there was water in the keypad connector that shorted out the keypad. Keypad is on order and they will track the source of the water when they come back to replace the keypad. It started to rain so they buttoned it up for now.

Tech called and said keypad was on order. He asked if it was ok to pick up my truck Monday and bring it back to the shop to replace the keypad and return it when it was done. That way they could do a more complete inspection to locate source of the water intrusion.

while he had the door panel removed he showed me the wet pins on the inside of the connector. That was the only connector that had water in it. I provided a blowgun connected to my compressor to blow out the water. When it was reassembled the backlights on the keypad numbers came on, where they didn’t prior to blowing out the connector. He tested each button while looking at BMS graph. 2 of the 5 buttons still didn’t log an input at the BMS. New keypad on order.

looking at the door interior I didn’t see any wet interior door panel. Perhaps the water got in the keypad area, followed the wire sheath and wicked all the way into the connector. My theory.
