Dragging rear brake after rotor replacement

Went for inspection and tire rotation recently in NY. Dealer wouldn't pass it because of rear rotor corrosion on both sides. (Maybe because I do a lot of beach driving and also use 1-pedal?) I got the rear rotors replaced.

THEN, got home and noticed the passenger side rear brake is dragging. Much warmer than the left. Sometimes way over 300 degrees F (when other side is 90F) after a 10 mile drive at 50 mph. Not surprisingly, mi/kWh is down (about 10-20% compared to before service).

Anyone have thoughts on what they did wrong?

I'm predicting they're gonna try and charge me for some further service.

They screwed up. Maybe inside pad on outside?

They need to give you new pads... Maybe a new rotor.

What is rear rotor corrosion ? Rust on the rotor? . These dealers are looking at anyway to make a buck. Should have told give me five mins. Drive truck to 50 mph put in N then slowing hit the brakes Till you get to 0. Go back to dealer show them how the rust is gone.

In PA you can legally demand the service shop provide the removed “failed” parts to you for review and to take with you. Making this known up front to a shop often prevents these often false failure claims. They don’t want you to find out they lie. FYI I am a licensed PA automotive and motorcycle inspector.

Decades ago I live in PA and took my car in for an inspection. My Jeep CJ-7 had driving lights with a switch. Since they weren't tied to the headlight switch, it would fail. Without asking, they wired it in and attempted to charge me. I refused to pay. They ripped off the inspection sticker.

I contacted another garage after removing the connection and removing the driving lights. It passed. They advised me to contact the PA State Police. I did, and they visited the dealership AND cited them.

At work, they tried to convince me that the dealership was owned by the mob and I was now marked. They pointed out that the local mall was shaped like a machine gun, and it was...

We moved from there after 14 long months. Lived in 3 of the 4 corners of PA over the years, and the NW corner was the worst.

LOL, this would work on some minor surface oxidation and not with corroded rotors. This applies to all vehicles and not just specific to ford. Once the rotors start to corrode, the pads lose contact area and the effective braking force is reduced. I'll be doing mine by the end of summer after over 100k km's.

In some places, the corrosion never stops, not everyone lives in a desert.

Smart - checking the temp/heat.

Had the exact same experience with a Tundra. Turned out to be a stuck caliper piston. Replaced the calipers (on both sides) and everything was fine.

if the rotors were rusted from ocean salt it wouldn’t be surprising. Per others, take it back and have them fix it.
