It doesn't. Steering wheel heat is either on or off. Seat heating has three levels.

It doesn't as a standard user setting, you can adjust it in Forscan.

I believe the steering wheel settings the O.P. is referring to is "On"and "Off".
After all, those are settings.

Middle aged Canadian here.

It's not an issue, I rarely get into a cold soaked truck.

They sell touchscreen compatible gloves if need be.

Best bet is to use preheat so you don't need gloves. The heated steering wheel is a cornerstone to winter driving for me now.

I would also add you can use the voice controls and never have to take your hands off steering wheel.

Announcing, to the entire crew, in a foreign language, that my butt is cold, possibly in three tries, is not my preferred solution

I usually drive with some light gloves in winter time, but adjusting temperature or opening my garage door requires me to remove my gloves. Not a great solution in heavy weather, when hands on the steering wheel is a necessity. I Asia they use sausages to enable touch while gloved, but I am not going down that road.

Do every American drive gloveless? Or do Ford sell touch-enabled driving gloves?

Even with bare fingers, I have troubles with touch screens - my fingers are not conductive enough I guess.

Maybe that would help me - my bare fingers have issues with touch screens - I made an aluminum foil thimble for my index finger but have to take it on and off all the time...although it matches my tin foil hat!
