Welp, I took the plunge over the weekend and upgraded my '23 Lariat. It took roughly 6 hours from start to finish, but I'm enjoying the UI improvements and charging speed data.

I had a couple of questions (and do forgive me in advance if I missed anything I should've read in the thread beforehand):
  • I do not see the seatbelt indicator in the bottom right corner of the IPC. Not a showstopper, but is there a specific module address where it can be added or restored?
  • Is there a specific module address to restore the seatbelt warning chimes on vehicle start?
My thanks and handshakes to all those who made this possible and took the first steps.
What exact trim is your truck. You need a IPC AB config from a truck with the same features with the newer firmware. Just ask here and have someone send it to you.

I drive a 2023 Lariat ER, EG 511A with trailer brake and power running boards.

Would anyone have a '24 IPC AB config with the same features who wouldn't mind sharing?

I may have a couple tweaks but I have that same config. Let me know if you can't download.

Thanks! I was able to load everything; I have belt indicator and chimes again.

General question: The Trip Summary info displayed at power off automatically dims after 1 second. Would anyone know how to extend the timeout in FORscan? I searched the forum and couldn't find a related thread. Aside from that, everything's just right.

Are you referring to the firmware for the IPC? What link are you referring to?

2.3.71 is the normal version so that won't work. You need the forscan beta.

edit: hmm...looks like they may have pulled it back in April? Version 2.4 - concept change - FORScan forum

Re: Version 2.4 - concept change

Beta testing of version 2.4 has been discontinued. Reason: the inability to ensure stable and secure firmware flashing of control units under current conditions.

Over the past 5+ years, an enormous amount of work has been done, and the flashing process itself has been refined to near perfection. However, a significant portion of the issues could not be resolved, as they do not lie entirely (or at all) within the technical domain:

- The inability to implement a full "Programmable Module Installation" (PMI) procedure due to restricted access to firmware information and update procedures.

- The inability to guarantee the success and safety of the flashing process, even when all conditions are met and the process is ideal, due to the specific characteristics of certain ECU, errors within the firmware itself, etc.

- The inability to verify the user's qualifications and their "readiness" for using v2.4.

- Very high support costs (resolving issues with bricked ECUs), no guarantees of recovering damaged units, and no prospects for further development of this functionality due to access restrictions.

We often receive complaints from users who have been denied access to this functionality, which typically go something like this: "I bought the license only because I need the module firmware update feature". Indeed, version 2.4 was provided to certain users as part of engineering support, which is available for paid Extended Licenses. However, this functionality is itself a test feature and is therefore NOT included in the cost of the Extended License. In other words, users do NOT pay for it. Accordingly, licensing issues will be addressed as follows:

1. Users who installed v2.4 before April 20, 2026, may continue using this version until their license expires. Updates will not be provided. Support will be provided on an exceptional basis only.

2. Users who purchased an Extended License specifically to access v2.4 but have not yet installed it may request a license revocation and a refund by contacting support.

For the actual software of FORScan to run on your windows machine?

Just get any version, it doesn't have to be some newest version, the truck has been out for 4yrs.

You WILL need an extended license to perform MFUs.

Are you saying 2.3.71 is ok
I’m using for 3 years the trial license, I’m not seeing the IPC update option. This will show up if I pay for it?

No you need a copy of the beta + the paid license to get the ability update firmware. Think I have the beta 2.4.19 and will try uploading it when I get home later if someone else doesn't before then
