Update: followed instructions here and Approach Lighting is now working, and I have the toggle in the Settings - Lighting sub-menu as well.

I found it very odd that when I review the Ford order sheet, changes to Job 2, for my 2025 everything stacks up properly (such as no phone charger, no console work platform, no step tailgate or work area liner, etc.) except the mention of "Passive Entry with Approach Detection." However, enabling the Approach Detection items in the Body Control Module, and making the change to enable Approach Lighting works perfectly.

Weird, to say the least ... but I'm happy now!! Yeah, I know this is such a minor thing ... but where we park the truck in our driveway is very dark at night and having the lighting come on as we walk up is very convenient!!

Cheers!!

Ken
That is one of the many features that I don’t really think about much but absolutely love about my truck!!

Sorry, I meant to reply sooner and kind of forgot.

I'm not on one side or the other personally, I use AI daily both personally and professionally and find it increadibly useful.

What I was trying to convey is that AI is only as good as the information that is availible, so if you have things that are well covered and (ideally) structured - like programming, it's amazing. But on other topics, say, "F150 Lightning thermal management of HVB" and things start to get sketchy simply because there isnt' enough information out there to draw a definitive conclusion. But AI will still reply back with a dissertation on the topic siting Reddit posts and some random news article where someone had mentioned that "yes, they do monitor the temperature of the battery" as "proof" that they do this that and the other, when in fact, we have more or less ZERO information on how it actually works.

People in general doesn't have the patience to be critical of the source or the information they're given, they simply accept it at face value and many times report it back as facts and now you have people feeding AI what AI fed them and it's a slippery slope in my opinion.

Forescan (since we're on that topic) is another thing - it's very well covered on ICE F150, but not so much on Lightning, so - personally - I'd take the result as useful, but with a grain of salt.
I would definitely double check the sources and the information that is being reported back to me before I accept whatever it is as true / facts.
Amen to that!

Dr. Gemini AI, physician from the google hospital, has become my primary physician. He/she is on call day and night and doesn't charge me a dime. Plugged in some of my blood test results the other day to learn what is going on.

Be VERY careful about how you ask questions of an AI. They always try to answer, and if they can't find any relevant information, they will quickly make stuff up. You always have to couch the questions in terms like, "only provide very high-confidence answers, otherwise just say that you're not sure". It's quite annoying.
