Purchased March 9th, and finally got my plates. Thanks to the DMV being overwhelmed with REAL-ID folks.

Drove all that time... no plates, no temp stickers, nothing. My truck didn't even have dealer advertisement plates on it. Just blank and 4k miles later I got my plates.

Wow. Bought my Lightning on Feb. 24 and had the plates in less than 10 days. Then into an Auto Club office to trade those for my Amateur Radio plates that I took off my previous truck. Never even installed the ones they sent me. Then one more dealing with DMV to get my Clean Air Vehicle stickers so I can use the HOV lane - that one turned out to be a real pain.

Nice. That MAY entice some stoplight excitement for folks wanting to test their theories. :sunglasses:

That's a cool license plate but for me personally, I think the torque is much more impressive. Higher number and that is what you feel in the seat of your pants.

580 HP might be more fun. Someone with 700 HP might want to give it a go at a stoplight, and we just smile and drop the hammer on 775 TQ and AWD.

Yes, I got my HOV stickers 6 months ago, I don't do much rush hour traffic driving, but occasionally it comes in handy BUT . . .
As of September all that goes away, they are retiring HOV abilities.

Yea, I know the HOV lane access goes away at the end of September. However I am retiring on 3 October, so I will care far less! In my morning commute, the HOV lane only saves me 5 minutes or so, but in the afternoon it's at least 15 minutes and sometimes more than that. Even though I could only benefit for about six months, it was worth the $27.
The hassle for me was that the Clean Air Vehicle stickers were ONLY available via the DMV online system (not in a DMV nor Auto Club office), and it turned out that the DMV system had never been programmed to be able to validate an amateur radio callsign plate for Clean Air Vehicle status. Finally I called DMV and after a while on hold and talking to one person, I was sent to an IT specialist who was able to confirm the problem. He was able to E-mail me the CAV application form and an additional form that allowed freeform text explaining what was "special" via pdf and the special address to mail them back. He even told me what to put on the additional form. The only issue with that was the fee changed and the old pdf had not been updated. So I dutifully sent a check for $22, only to have it returned because the fee had increased to $27. That cost an additional three weeks. Finally got the stickers a couple months ago.

Ya, I kinda hate arriving to the party so late, so to speak...bu it was nice while it lasted.
And such a pain, for you to go through, sometimes things are just a B**ch

Crater Lake! One of my favorite plate designs. Truck looks great, hope you've been enjoying it.

Also just noticed you ordered them in March, wow! We're spoiled in AZ with custom plates, I've had them come as quickly as 5 days.

I few things caused my delays... I bought out of state.... Oregon doesn't have the deals that Washington has, and to save thousands to drive 4 hours away is worth it. I did that with my 2020 Ranger as well. (I paid $63k for a NEW Lariat).

So I had to wait for my documents to be scanned into the Oregon DMV system, which they are overwhelmed with people getting their REAL-ID licenses so they can fly. Once my documents where ready, I had to try to find an appointment at a DMV, Not a easy task. I e-mailed DMV several times, asking if I could just pay online like I did during Covid. Nope! So once I finally got an appointment, just to PAY I then had to wait for them to process everything. The best part is my plates have a MAY month sticker, and I just got them in JULY. In Oregon we pay MORE the better MPG a vehicle gets, and MAX for EV's. Cost $1200. (Yes it's for 4 years, and personal plates... but not cheap)
