My friend invited us out on their boat and we decided it would be cool to try the lightning to tow it instead of their 2021 F150 Lariat. I let him drive, but configured the trailer settings and wow, it was impressive. His first thought was that you can’t even tell the trailer is there and that it’s extremely smooth. It calculated about half the range that it had before we put the trailer on, but did indicate that it would need to several miles to be more accurate (about 102mi towing vs 200 non towing on SR battery). Overall, it was really fun to do and see what capabilities are there.

Fake news.

You cannot tow with the extended range, let alone the standard.

Everyone knows the only tow scenarios are hundreds of miles towing a boat attached to a rv attached to your truck.

The ICE truck probably towed the ev and the boat. Picture doesn't even show the front end.... Where the lightning is attached to the ICE, gotcha!

Wow, really close to electrocuting everybody near the ramp! Good thing you didn't backup anymore!

(Nice Pics)

Well done. The only thing missing is the random ALL CAPS words.

On a serious note, any chance you took notice of the miles/kWh for the towing trip? What are the size and weight of the boat and trailer?

It was about 1.4. We estimated 5000lbs and went maybe 10 miles round trip. It wasn’t too far

Nice. I am getting about the same 1.4 kw with my ER Larriot my towning from my house to my typical spot about 50 miles all highway. I have a 17 Boston whaler about 3500 lbs with trailer. I think a lot has to do with drag and aero vs straight trailer weight.

Yes aero is much more important than weight. Too bad I've got a camper trailer 😬
