Am I wrong to think that the underlying problem we are all trying to address is the fact that Ford has not bothered to integrate Tesla Superchargers into its navigation system? When we travel in my wife’ Tesla our planning (if any) is just putting our destination in the Tesla navigation system and it does everything for us. It’s so ironic that Ford’s navigation system shows me icons for every gas station I drive by, but it can’t include Tesla Superchargers in its navigation system. Please correct me if I’m missing something…
That, and Ford navigation just sucks in general.

Its also a poor navigation tool and has questionable accuracy.

Tesla‘s navigation system was really good, but I’ve never found one that was better than Google maps, especially the vehicle manufacturers other than Tesla. So I always run Google maps on CarPlay with the lightning and don’t bother with Ford Nav.

Me too, brother. When google added a reasonably accurate estimated state of charge at arrival, that was pretty life changing, and ensured i would never consider using Ford navigation again.

I did a 4700 me Grand tour in my Lightning with the paid version and a recommended dongle. Really thought it was a waste after the first 3 days. It would route me to 75 kw chargers when 250 kw chargers were just a couple miles away. If you select fewer stops, it would ask you to drive 65 on a 80 mile an hour interstate. If you added more stops it would add extra stops when you could charge to 80 or 85% and skip a stop completely. And yes it would take me off the interstate and right back on for no reason. It would take me to Pilot flying J when there was was a Tesla supercharger 5 miles down the road for 1/2 the price. It was good for basic route planning but that was it. I finally used it to give an idea were I would end up each day, then used Expexia to find hotels with free charging. (Look under amenities) Learning curve too steep for the benefits.

Yeah I agree with you. ABRP has a lot of room for improvement. I have experienced the same issues as you and I’ve tried numerous settings and made sure my beginning SOC was set before the first leg of the trip and it’s never even close to being accurate. I also have a Dongle for live data to the app and it’s never consistent.

ABRP is a great pre-planning tool, but when it comes down to the actual trip I use Google Maps on Android Auto and I set the next desired charger as the destination usually. Then I will still run ABRP on my phone while Google Maps is runing on the truck screen, it seems to support that.
