Ford - PLEASE put some effort into the feature, function and user experience for your application (Both FordPass and Charging application). There is no logic or structure to the user menus and application flow. It looks like a bunch of independent developers created their respective features and no one gave any attention to the overall user interface. My suggestion would be to start from scratch. -perform a complete rewrite. Take a few of the super users on this forum and do some functional research. You could have a really cool tool to support a really cool truck - instead this app integration is a huge negative. If you ever want specifics i'd be happy to elaborate

All they have to do is download Teslas app for a pretty good start. It’s not perfect but a huge leap.

Also these devices have huge amounts of processing power in them. It should take seconds between actions and deleting messages.

if the app is any indication of how Ford does things the T3 is going to be a real joy.

I have a feeling a booboo in a line of code in T3 could get a lot more interesting.

LOL - I am just frustrated with lack of features and the poor design. I mean there a fortune 500 with over $50Billion. of all auto manufactures i would expect them to at least be on par if not lead the way of innovation.

My ā€˜23 PB had the onboard scales and for the first month or so the app had functionality to use the scales within the app but it never worked properly so they removed that functionality. I’m okay with not having the scales on my Lightning, cool feature but I rarely used them. Just another example of features not working or being removed from the app.

Guess the UI is so bad the Record Feedback app isn't obvious...

No matter what they do the app, it and the TCU, will still let Ford know what you're doing and isn't that what computing is REALLY all about anyway? The lab rats are complaining about the food again (squeak, squeak!)

Stop blaming the developers for bad layout. We're responsible for shitty performance. When it comes to shitty UI, we do what the Product and Design people tell us.

Who is "we" and what "performance" do you mean? I am not talking Miles/Kilowats - i am talking the performance (and function) of the FordPass application. And if you read my note i am not blaming developers for layout - i am blaming someone in the Ford Motor Company that is responsible for taking development features and putting them in a functional and customer focused means to be used/consume. The entire forum is filled with ideas, feedback and user testimonies - Ford should be paying attention. thousands of consumers spending time sharing first hand insight and feedback - I think most technology companies pay millions for this level of input/research.

By we, I mean my fellow software developers. Performance, I mean how the app performs, not the truck. I was just poking fun at my peers over at Ford, because, well this comic (https://xkcd.com/2030/) is as relevant if it was written today as it would have been 15 or 20 years ago.

You're right, many company's pay lots of good money for this feedback, and most of them ignore it if it doesn't support the bosses stance on the issue. I've personally been involved in dozens of feedback sessions, and the cherry picking of what actually gets implemented is rather ridiculous considering what's invested in collecting that info.

FWIW I agree a lot with what your saying, but the world of software development is a lot messier than people tend to think. Thousands of functions, written by the lowest bidder or pulled in from a package that might be maintained by someone scamming you into mining crypto, developed in isolation, and cobbled together by underpaid and overworked in-house engineers that have no idea what the code is actually doing.

@invertedspear - Thank you. I am also in the software development side (although i don't code). But seriously - this app is awful so I am hoping that at some point in my ownership of this truck (just got it in Aug) - they actually make some improvements. I am not holding my breath either.

I'm a dev and have a ton of native app experience. I would say Ford Pass is a D- in terms of professional apps you would expect from a company as big as Ford. There are so many things wrong with it I wouldn't even know where to begin. My favorite is the banner for remote start in progress persisting for hours and then not letting you remote start until you force-kill the app. Or the remote start failing because you didn't leave the app open during the entire process (helllooo ... background processing?). Honestly the overflowing Subject and Date label elements within "message center" shows that this thing was built and maintained by a team that is simply way over their heads. Agree, time to start over.

I read you man, Ive had two Teslas, one now, and for those of us who have had the tesla experience would also know the Ford App. and the trucks software is far behind. The truck is awesome, software sucks.
