This is blowing my mind. I didn't realize it was possible to buy a car that has DRLs but not automatic headlights. I see morons driving around without lights but they are generally in shitty old cars.
At least once I found myself being the idiot using DRL's only. It was on another car that had Auto, but I just had dealer service where they decided to put the switch on Off..

Yep, seen it a few times.

The worst are the cars that turn the headlights ok, but not the tail lights. Absolutely idiotic because the driver fully thinks their lights are on, and they are, but the rear lights are not.

Nissan's seem to be the worst, their DRLs are so frigging bright it really does seem like you just have (crappy) headlights. I have flashed a few for running their high beams, just to have them drive by and realize it's their DRLs

Remember in the old days when DRLs first showed up in the US, it just was the low beam headlights. After a few years the manufacturers started adding separate lights for the DRLs.

That was my first (and only) FORScan mod on my 2010 F-150. For that generation F-150, DRL was available via low beams but only enabled for fleet and Canadian vehicles IIRC. One simple mod turned them on for me.
