Hack for lowering spare tire?

For $20 you can get a corded impact from Harbor freight.

Add a VERY long extension, and an adapter to run the factory jack, and that $20 would VERY handy

The inexpensive driver sounds like a good idea to go along with the long extensions and socket.

if you get a flat

I wish I could say that part. In the eight months I have had my truck, I have had three flats. First one something skittered across the freeway and hit the RF sidewall - 4 inch split. Instant 0 PSI. Freeway Service Patrol was there in minutes and changed the tire. Obviously had to replace the tire. Second one was a screw in the RR right on the corner between the tread and sidewall. That one was slow enough I could drive a couple miles to get off the freeway. I called AAA and they got there in 10 minutes. Shop plugged it and so far it's holding. Third one was last Saturday and something damaged the tread while on a gravel road. Middle of nowhere so that one I changed. This trick would have been handy and saved some time!

Already planned to replace all four (or five) tires with off-road tires in the near future.

May be useful for some…I wanted an easy, no thought tool for lower my aftermarket full size spare.

Fits in the plastic tube and engages the lowering mechanism easily. A 22mm or 7/8 ratchet both fit on the end to turn it.
