As my heated steering was recently activated, I'm now having my first experience with it in cold weather.

There is something amusing with how cold the steering wheel buttons feel when the steering wheel heat is on.

Quick question. I have a 2023 Lariat. i currently do not have heated steering wheel. Is this just a program update, or equipment needed? Not too concerned as i am in AZ.

IDK about the Lariat, but my Platinum had it deleted.
It still had the heating element in the wheel.
Some part had to be added and the software updated.
The steering wheel had to be removed to install the part.
I was notified by mail that this could be accomplished.
This is all I know.

Read all about it here. TLDR - requires replacement of Steering Column Control Module with one that has the chip that is missing in yours.

This annoys me more than the buttons. The metal on my shifter gets ice cold. Is it too much to ask for heated and ventilated shifters and buttons??

So...I mentioned elsewhere that when they installed the needed part to make my heated steering work, they "frunk ajar module" wouldn't update and I'd have a warning until they got the new part.
So I lived with it giving the error for a day, then manually opened the frunk to get a few things.
After this the warning messages went away.
I made the *assumption* the frunk just didn't work.
Today, while checking if I have one of the 12v battery modules that is recalled (I do), I tested the button on the frunk and it closed just fine. It also opens just fine.
I have no errors.
