XLT 312a being delivered right now, built in April. Current window sticker has no mention, not even listed as a deletion.

I heard recent deliveries from people on this forum saying their truck post-Feb now have it.

Should I see this on the window sticker?
Would love to hear replies from people who have actually taken delivery (especially xlt 312a) and not those who want to speculate.
Thanks in advance!!

I have not seen it listed in recent generation of window stickers.

Test it when your truck is ready for acceptance & purchase.

I went through the current order builder for a 312A, does not list a removal of that option anymore, and specifically listed it as a feature update when changing from 311A to 312A

You’re the man! Thank you! Chilly upstate NY winters. Looking forward to that option.

So the other question is... can we add it to our trucks that had it deleted? Would be nice to put back in if affordable.

I believe it is going to be done under a recall. That’s what the dealer told me and there was a Ford dealer on YouTube, talking about deletes, in the comments someone asked about retrofits he said Lightnings were the only ones that were going to get a retrofit on the heated wheel when available.

My truck, ordered 11/17/22 and in production only 4/3/23 because of the battery fire, had the heated steering wheel removed in the online order with $140 off the price but the current window sticker is $140 more than it should be with no mention at all of the heated steering as an option or a removal. The other two removals, the scales and smart hitch and the advanced security: intrusion/inclination detection, are still listed with the appropriate deductions. No wonder things go wrong at Ford if they can't keep the published data straight. One way or the other, the window sticker ought to indicate what's in the vehicle relative to the order placed. Since I should get my truck within the next week or two, I will check out the heated steering wheel before I pay $140 extra for something that's not there. BTW, the dealer rep says that they know that they got my $100 reservation fee and my $1,000 order deposit from Ford, but they can't figure out where it went! They'd better not tell me that I need to pay $1,100 more for the vehicle, and they'll refund the reservation fee and the order deposit when they locate what account it went to! So, Ford dealers, just like the mothership, can't keep things straight!

Edit_Update: Red McCombs found the missing $1,100! https://www.f150lightningforum.com/forum/threads/dealer-add-on-fees-in-texas.15392/post-315354

Other than the accounting department tracking, my overall experience with Red McCombs has been great. I highly recommend them (or at least their product specialist Nick Farias, who's been helping me) to anyone in the San Antonio area.

They have limitations on vendor production and availability, consider yourself lucky they have got a supply again and the heated wheel will be included with your build, to be honest they're doing as best they can with the limitations in global supply

This dealer needs to either get their proverbial SHHHHH together or go bankrupt

It will not be a recall. It will be offered to consumers. You can choose to get it, or not.

The heating steering wheel being present or missing for me is a relatively minor issue for me both feature-wise (since I'm way down south in sunny south central Texas) and money-wise ($140 out of a ~$90K truck). I don't know how insurers figure out what's in a vehicle, i.e., how they can use the VIN to get data on what the truck was built with. But clearly, if it's based on the window sticker, screwing up the official window sticker is potentially screwing up the insurance reimbursement one might get in an accident, which might hurt a lot if bigger items were involved with a faulty window sticker. Presumably, an on-the-ball buyer isn't going to accept a vehicle with a faulty window sticker for that reason; instead, they can have fun figuring out whether the sticker describes everything the truck is supposed to have and fun haggling with the dealer and Ford to get a correct sticker (I was going to make my dealer annotate my purchase documents to note that I had paid for the heated steering wheel if it doesn't show up in my delivered truck).

There are other "DOCUMENTS" in the ford system to verify what is on a specific build, you can see the feature listed in the order and build process at FORD.COM, I verified it for a 312A truck for another member a few days ago.

And for the record, those where it SHOULD be present, will eventually get it, through the recall and retrofit process, while items not retrofittable are clearly documented on the sticker in contrast to what could have been provided based on the original model specifications list, I don't think the insurance adjusters are going to fret over the matter in a loss claim.

I picked up the truck today, and it has the heated steering wheel factory-installed. Hurray!

Anyone on this thread with a XLT SR EG 312A and has FORScan? I need the BCM firmware files and to get them the FORScan team needs the debug info from someone with the truck.
