Wondering if there is a recalibration or hard reset I can do for the HVAC system? I do have access to Forescan.

I have been using the "Auto" setting for HVAC and simply been setting the desired temperature. I did this on my previous 2013 F150 and had great results and like not having to mess with the settings, however this has not been working well in my 2025 Lightning Lariat.

During the summer months, the A/C seemed to be super cold and I had to constantly increase the temperature setting to remain comfortable.

Now that it's getting cold out, I'm having a similar issue with the heating side. This morning it was 46 degrees outside, so not super cold. I set the interior cabin temp to 74 but it never really got warm inside the truck. Even after 30 minutes there was still a chill in the cabin. I took it out for another drive with a thermometer with me and the cabin never got above 68 degrees despite being set to 74. When setting the temp setting to "HI", hot air does blow out so it's not a heat pump issue, rather an actuator/blend door/thermostat issue.

Anyone have similar issues with the Auto feature and temp settings? Am I being too picky and just need to set cabin temperature to 80 or HI? Thanks guys!

I posted a thread about the exact issue you describe here. Search for it. I think it's called "how does cabin heating work" or something like that.

I suspect that as we get closer to winter, there will be a lot of discussion here about the horrendous performance of the climate control system on the new Lightning trucks.

I normally leave mine on Auto, but I agree it's not perfect. Frankly, I would be happy if you could just fully manually control it like we did for most of history...

I noticed on mine this morning, the heat wouldn't come on until I pressed the heat button on screen to turn it on. The fan was blowing but no heat. You would think cranking the temp all the way up on both sides it would automatically do it but no.

Once I turned it on from the other screen, it started blowing hot.

On my 25 Flash when it's warm outside I have to turn the temp up to 74 or 75 to keep from freezing as it keeps blowing super cold air way past when the cabin has cooled down. Eventually I will adjust it back to 72 but it takes about 15 minutes to get to that point. I have the truck set to climitize in the morning before I leave for work. When I get in it's nice and toasty and I usually end up turning it down to 70 because it's too warm. Then repeat the cycle of cranking up the heat when I leave work. Of all the vehicles I've ever owned with auto climate control my 2021 BMW was the only one that got it right. It could cool the cabin without blasting you in the face with cold air for 30 minutes.

I haven't had these issues with my '25 Flash. Something I do that may be different is keeping the ventilation system in recirculate mode. Other than that, I haven't had to touch the A/C controls.

Same thing happened to me.
I changed the screen menu to have the air be "driver focused" and the heat came on.
Maybe also found a menu setting for heat, don't recall.

I have similar issues with my 23 xlt. I want that really warm air I have to put it at 77 degrees. If I have the heat on but I want cooler air after the cabin has warmed up I have two options. Option 1 go into the settings and turn off heat. Option 2 set it to like 65. In the heating season it does not seem to handle a mid range temperature that well 68-74.

Yes there seems to be an toxic relationship between the knobs and the menu - both fighting for control of the temperature.

That's because you are thinking too simplified. It's only been decades that when you ask for more heat by turning up the thermostat, that you then get more heat. Lightning programmers thought, no... people really don't mean they want more heat when they crank up the thermostat. What they really want is to save battery and for the truck to blow cold air around. If they really want more heat, we will hide a button that they need to turn on to get heat. You can't make this stuff up. Ford programmers are their own worst enemies.

In that case I guess we should be happy. It could have been. up, up, right, left, right, left, down, down. to get heat. At least we have a fake "auto" button to make us feel like we are in the 90's

Personally I think not-AI @Ford Motor Company does need to address this. Not just in the frustration folks feel, but in the wild inconsistency between vehicles. That right there is the biggest indication something is amis, with users having wildly different experiences.
