Hey guys/gals,

Wanted to share some photos of a HVB module replacement in a 2022 Lightning Lariat ER.

Truck was showing no signs of issues before getting the call from Ford that it needed a new module. One of the cells fell below the threshold apparently.

The new module is currently getting balanced and will be installed later today or tomorrow.

The module has been on the balancer for 2.5 hours and is only 13% done with the process.

I am not going to go into much detail of the whole process of replacing a module but I will share photos!

The battery pack is currently sitting in a "no walk zone" with cones keeping people away from the HVB being exposed.

I was wearing a rubber suit to get the photos (that's a joke, but it is highly dangerous if something were to fall onto the battery and cross leads).

You did a much better job on photos that I did. I think we were all afraid of the Ford battery police showing up🤣

I’m a month post repair and feel confident in the vehicle again.

Honestly, that's why I am not going into much detail. Munro completely dissected the battery all the way down to the pouches so the cats already out of the bag.

How long did you have to wait between getting notified and starting the repair?

Ford dropped the ball on mine, was scheduled for this Monday but they didn't confirm the parts were there and the dealer had the tech assigned to do the work, so I cancelled the appointment. The vehicle is running good, so hopefully it stays that way. If they're serious about this maybe they'll contact me again.

As long as you are not going too high or too low in SOC, you can wait a short time before getting the fix. If the string is above the average, you risk overcharging the cells (you don't want to see the videos of me overcharging cells!), and if it is below the other strings, you risk over-discharging them (still not good but not near as bad as overcharging).
