And also...am I the only one who doesn't buy vehicles based on what I think their value might be X number of years down the road? Automobiles are one of the WORST investments a person can make, IMHO.

if i'm not mistaken, i believe this was the plan all along. I'm not sure why people expected a "next-gen" lightning. As a day 1 reservation holder, when Farley announced T3, he specifically stated, there will be no new F150 Lightning. Its just a shame we won't get T3 because it sounded epic.

I am ok with the $30k mid size skateboard truck and/or Ranger, Bronco, Maverick BEV or I'll go Slate. But i won't buy a EREV and get the worst of both worlds.

Exactly. If you need future value peace of mind, lease.

Pending on the engine options with those years, you may have had some really reliable trucks.
The 76 F100 was awesome. It was a 3 on the tree, which I didn't even know how to drive when I arrived for the test ride! lol
It needed a valve cover and manifold gasket when I got it, but otherwise was amazing. Rear wheel drive on a longbed in Wisconsin winters (and a clogged heater core) made me sell it to get the Ram w/ 4x4. That truck had some weird engine issues early, but otherwise good. The GMC was part of the early years where they decided they could shut down 4 of the 8 cylinders once you were at highway speeds. Unfortunately, they decided to shut down the SAME 4 cyl every time. Not good.

2025 F-150 Lightning Lariat (traded in 2021 MME GT PE for it)
As a Ford EV supporter since 2015 who traded in my 2021 MME GT PE for my Lightning Lariat in August, 2025 on a 4 year lease, maybe this is my last F-150? I cannot fathom ever wanting a gas vehicle again, in any form. Sadly, I am presently being reminded of how weak ICE is compared to BEV. My Lightning has had a some issues that required me to bring it to the dealer on December 2nd and am driving a new Ford Escape in the meantime. I really dislike the ICE.
I grew up in the Midwest and drove many trucks over the years, one of the wildest was a 1976 F-250 high boy full-time 4x4, not a stranger to Ford and other brands trucks.
My wife has the BMW iX which has been extraordinary. Maybe I'll look at the Neue Klasse when they move up to the iX size. Sad, I really like the Lightning when it is not sitting at the dealership for a couple of weeks and counting.

I have a 73 that is 3 on the tree, though at some point in its life it was moved to the floor. 360 FE big block.

What a SAD day! This is not what I expected from Ford at all! I bought in because alike a few others here, I have Solar power on my home and even invested in full electric lawn equipment! I don’t need to drive 700 miles. The range in my 2023 Lariat ER is more than enough with 320 miles range! When going further I just plug in and have lunch while charging and that’s on a rear occasion. I laughed at the idea that Ram was planing a Ram Charger EREV truck to do this same foolishness! I thought that a major reason for an EV was eliminating the gasoline guzzling trend. I drive a semi truck for a living and cause enough pollution to the planet in that thing! I bought an EV because I wanted to drive sunlight and really enjoy my quiet trips to work at $0.64 per week! Why would I ever pump gas again?!?! … now Rivian looks very good to me all of a sudden!!!! This F150 Lightning checked all the boxes for me, and that’s why I bought one. SMH!!!!

Why do folks think GM or RAM will continue to push forward with a pickup truck? We may be looking at a "pause" in the manufacture of battery powered full size trucks. The conditions in the USA just are not compatible. We are a oil based society. When the true price of gasoline and diesel enters the market then will be the all EV time. That could be a decade???

These current Lightnings probably will make another decade .... 😁

Does the 10 years of parts include the high voltage battery modules? That's my biggest concern, having had 2 go bad last year.

Looks like my first Ford in 45 years was our 2022 Mustang Mach-E and my last Ford for the foreseeable future will be our 2023 Lightning. Zero interest in anything that uses fossil fuels.

Not surprising. Farley has been all over the place. Dude needs a rudder.

It certainly has to for at least 8 years for all of the warranties they've underwritten.

What about the improved solid state and semi solid state battery tech coming out? Why isn't Ford looking into those? They're lighter, provide more range, and charge faster. BMW and Toyota are supposed to be releasing some models in the next couple of years.

And I wonder if there will ever be a possibility of upgrading the battery in my 2022 one day. If a company manufactured one that would be compatible, I would be on board if my battery isn't giving me a good performance. But so far, in happy with a 230 mile range. We even took a 650 mile road trip to Big Bend National Park a year ago, and the range didn't bother us at all.
