I have searched high and low for a Bug Deflector that is designated to fit the 2022 Lightning, particularly on Ford Accessories. (Tons of FordPass points to use. ?)

Well, if you didn’t already know, I am here to attest to the fact that the available Lund Airoskin Defelctor listed for the 2023 Lightning fits perfectly on the 2022 MY. I don’t know why they don’t list the 2022 along with the 2023, but they don’t.

My local parts guy and I kept working to figure out what would fit and found that the hood is the same on both the 2022 and 2023 parts catalog.

Here is the proof in the pudding:

I usually don't like these things but it looks pretty good on the Lightning.

What is the part number and who carries it?

I didn’t bring the box or material home when I left the dealership’s parts department so I’m afraid I do t have it.

They ordered it off Ford Accessories and it shipped to them.

I’ll poke around see if I can find it.

Is just an adhesive install, or do you have to pop fasteners, etc. ?

Adhesive installation.

I had these on my Mavericks and they were rock solid.

Very nice. I ordered mine in April and just picked it up at the dealer this morning. There has been a North American shortage of these items after the first round was mis-packaged or mis-labeled. (the first one that arrived with this part number in APRIL was for ICE hoods).

I just worry about the adhesive strips on the paint. Is it okay? I suppose you never take it off, right?

I don't have points. Anyone recommend a non-OEM alternative?

Generally no. But it can be removed with the right solvent and technique. The only reason I would remove mine would be in the event of an accident that might require repair to that area.

I had that happen to me about six months back when I first ordered what was said to fit the 2022. Now I only see ones that are recommended for the 2023. Thus the reason for my ‘Public Service Announcement.’

To add to this, adhesive or clips won't matter, the bigger problem after removing it will be the difference in sun fading of the paint. If you remove it, you will likely be wanting to replace it ASAP else you'll have a slightly darker section of paint under it.

I can't find this sku number on the Ford parts website and I do not see where the bug deflector is listed in accessories for the 2023 Lariat.
