Minor rant incoming

Little things like this make me question my future buying Ford vehicles. It’s so small but important to me and it’s been 4 years on the market. I get bugs happen but … is there not a testing suite? Are we all driving beta version trucks? For a product that has already been cancelled for another hybrid?

Was a bit extreme but y’all get it. I’m a software engineer so even the little things make me a bit anxious about how the major things are tested and rolled out when my family’s in the truck.

I completely get you and i think you're reasonable in your reaction because it's the little things that add up.

I'm not a HUGE fan of our lightning, but overall I really like it. This is my first ford and quality is slightly above what I expected but still not great.

I say all this because i've owned a crazy range of makes (off the top of my head..i'll list them all: dodge, chev, oldsmobile(ha!), mitsbushi, audi, mercedes, jaguar, bmw, porsche, hyundai, lucid, ford)....and they've honestly all have their quirks..some smaller than others. I've owned more porsches than other brands simply because they've been the most consistent with quality and approach versus the others that I've tried/drove (yeah yeah..some comparisons are unfair...porsche vs hyundai, etc.)...but I'm just saying, at the end of the day the quirks and issues that you don't mind are the ones you should stick with versus the ones that bother you more (and this will obviously vary person to person).

I think I have my climate control under control when I don't remember to use the app to preheat it. Temps have been in the teens for a while. After I take off I hit the max defrost button under the sync screen which causes the system to heat up the fastest. Then move my temp up to 85/high. Not long before I can shut off the max defrost. Then not long before I lower my temp to 75-77. I also keep my 2 dash vents closed so they can't blow any of that cold air on me that it does after a while. Still keep the seat and steering wheel warmers on high. So that keeps it comfortable on my side and the wife is always messing with her side but she seems happy.
