It has been a fun and awesome 3+ years with the F-150 Lightning. I really enjoyed this truck, and I can't say anything bad about it. After years of searching for the right vehicle, I thought I would keep this for a very long time. Unfortunately, due to job related issues, I needed to hand in the keys and get something else for the time being (lease swap 2023 Mach-E GTPE). Since the Mach-E lease expires early 2027, I might get the EREV if money allows in the future... assuming its out already.

So if anyone is interested in a nice, low mileage, early build F-150 Lightning Platinum with virtually all of the add-ons please visit Millerford in Lumberton, New Jersey and ask for Mike S (which is one of the mangers). Normally I don't promote dealerships, but I feel that he helped out me out of a jam, and I owe him one.

I don't think I understand the change. Is it that you need even better mpg? Or was this a lower monthly payment? If it's the lower monthly payment issue, wouldn't refinancing the Lightning be about the same? Or was it that dramatic of a change? (I don't know, so sorry for my ignorance)

It wasn’t the MPGe, it was the car payment itself. Even if I did refinance somehow, the payment would still be way higher than I am paying right now for the Mach-E lease. My main goal was to save money per month.

I will also be selling / trading in my 23 XLT as it no longer meets my needs. Since I retired, I no longer commute 30 miles / day and as I age, it is harder to get into and out of the truck and I don't haul as much stuff either. I wish someone had a small BEV or PHEV pickup, but the best I can find are standard hybrid models like the Maverick. To paraphrase the song: I'm not as spry as I once was, but I'm as spry once as I ever was.

I ordered and bought my 2022 from Miller Ford as well! Still drive up there for my 10k service appointments and I’ve probably got at least 20 dealerships that are closer to me.
