I DO NOT endorse bypassing the dead man feature this way. I can see too ways to get into trouble if the driver does not have to be actively engaged with the vehicle. Even with all the safety features engaged there is risk, to intentionally bypassing safety features is just dumb.

Lane centering in Lariat mimics Bluecruise nagging just with steering monitoring turned on…. It yells for eyes on road every time lift coffee cup for a drink.

Lane centering on the XLT… so much more pleasant.

I have two Lightnings in the family, both still in the first 3 years of full BC. There are two things that will prevent me from paying for a subscription:

1. Not getting update to BC 1.whatever. If that update doesn't get pushed, I won't consider paying to continue once the trial expires.
2. The HOW nag on non-interstate highways. I am in Nevada, and most of our long distance highways are not interstates, and most are not divided by a median. Many are just 2 lane highways. So they don't qualify for for the full hands-free experience. The HOW nag requires so much torque input to satisfy it, that it is just easier to drive myself. In these long vast expanses of nothing out here in the desert southwest, I can drive with just my fingertips of one hand with my hand resting comfortably on my knee. But if I engage HOW BC, I have to practically wrestle with it to keep it happy. So either they need to get these highways mapped and approved, or they need to make the nag less of a nuisance.

This is kinda old news. You can either move the wheel like you’re doing or you can just get an ankle weight and put on the wheel and that will work and you don’t have to touch the wheel at all. I made my own little weight that I hang on the wheel for when I’m on non BC roads and it works perfectly.

I do just that, in my 'aftermarket added' Lane Centering radar installation PRO SR... it works perfectly NO MATTER what road, roadway, rural or interstate, you are driving... I Love it, period, and would never even WANT the Blue Cruise - no need for it.

Wonder where the setting is in code (via Forscan) that controls the length of time before you get the warning? ?

I found the dead man switch! By accident I hit the button that adjusts the adaptive cruise control following distance when the “Put hands on wheel” message popped up and the message turned off. I started hitting the following distance button when the warning message comes up and the message turns off every time.

I’m not sure hitting that button is more convenient than giving the steering wheel a little jerk but at least we have an option to turn off the warning message that keeps the truck tracking straight.

Ford F-150 Lightning Lightning dead man switch 1lb wrist weight AdaptiveCruis

my PRO SR simple 'autonomous' driving solution, after adding DIY LaneCentering AdaptiveCruise with new radar/harness/programming - works for hundreds of interstate miles with no interaction from me, the driver... and works on any well-marked roads, at any speed... no BlueCruise needed, or wanted.
Yesterday's hazardous bumper-to-bumper, or 70mph, ATLANTA north I75 and south I75 traffic: worked perfectly, no hands needed.

Yeah I keep meaning to add this weight... I just always forget to buy it when I step away from the laptop and I'm running around doing errands

On one of my father’s construction jobs a crane operator decided to use a c-clamp to hold down the up travel button and then fell asleep. The spot light he was lifting traveled to the top, the cable broke and the spot light fell killing a construction workers. There’s a reason why the Lightning lane centering feature has a dead man switch and by defeating the switch you are putting everyone’s lifes at risk.
