Lightning Lariat Tailgate Badges

I've seen several threads where people modified their larger tailgate badges on non lariat trims. Anyone modify/paint their Lariat's Tailgate Ford emblem? Measures just about 5" and I can't seem to find many cool options for overlays. Is it possible to just remove the badge entirely and place a larger 7" or 9" badge over the sunken in area?

There's lots of guys who are professional autobody painters that will do them for you. Mine was on eBay and he did a fantastic job, they are still holding up extremely strong. I painted mine black and body color

Thanks for the info. May I have the name or link to the ebay store that does this?

I'm assuming I will have to send the emblem in? How was the emblem attached and is there access from the back of the tailgate to get to it?

this is exactly what I got, I had him paint them in Azure gray metallic.

I honestly don't remember if I took the badges off or if he just sent me new ones. The one on the front grill (you definitely want them to match) headlock pins that you break off and reuse, in the back if I remember correctly seemed to click in. I permanently reattach mine with 3M double-sided tape and it's been flawless, no issues.
