Moonroof option only available on Lariat and Platinum trims?

No - not for the Lightning.

MY 2022 LIghtning had limited options - not the like the traditional way of ordering single line item options. This first year model had very large packages required for the twin panel moonroof.

Lariat ER or Platinum that have ER battery plus tons of other options.

Perhaps later years may include them as single option add ons for other trims.

Until Ford ramps up production and allows for customized builds - it may take some time.

Lariat 511A and up for 2022. I wish I could have ordered my 511A without the twin panel moonroof, but they force it on you in the package. I have seen too many of them needing to be replaced over the last 7 years.

Thanks everyone - I'm pretty far back in the line - reserved 4 days after reservations started - so likely between 40K and 70K spot.... Maybe I'll be given the option to fulfill my reservation in 2024 - maybe by then individual line items will be options instead of having to move up entire trims
?

I would have loved an opiton to delete the moonroof. I won't use it, and it can fail.

Same here.

Bundling the ER and moonroof was a bad idea for those that never use it.

25 years had: tilt moonroofs, sliding twin and triple panel, and sun roofs - never thought it was useful - cause more sun heating & lack of headroom.

2 of them leaked, 1 jammed open and rained so I am not a fan of moonroofs...

Just outright failure usually. Fail to open or close. They never 'fix' them. They take your seats out, drop the headliner and completely replace the unit. We have a technician who does these all the time. My last brand new Ford was a 2015 Lariat 502A and I specifically ordered it without the all-new twin-panel moonroof at the time because I figured I would never use it. I never really used the normal one that I got with my 2011 Lariat. Fast forward several years after seeing so many failures, and my reason for not wanting the roof was added to even more by what I saw going on in the shop.

I have a 2017 F150 XLT that came with the moonroof, for the cost, it's very over rated IMO. I do wish I had the option for a rear power window in my XLT Lightning build though. I use that way more frequently compared to the moonroof.

I will go the other way - I love the moon roof in my 2017 Raptor. First truck I have had with one. I don't end up opening it that often, but I leave the shade open all of the time. I like the extra light and openness it gives to the cab and it has plenty of tinting so that sun glare has never been an issue.

Almost all cars I bought have moonroof's but I seldom use them. Still, no moonroof on a $80k vehicle sounds a little weird to me.

Also it is included in the $10k package mainly for extra 70-90 miles range, I won't complain as long as it does not leak.
