Mysterious broken orange plastic part

Still on day number .5 with the truck and doing a deeper dive looking into every crevice on the thing. When I was examining the joint between the tailgate and the bed in the center where the wiring sleeves through I noticed a broken piece of bright orange plastic inside the tailgate. Fished it out and have some pictures below. Has anyone seen something like this inside the power tailgates before? Maybe just some leftover junk from assembly?

My vote is for a lunch tray!

In all seriousness, on EVs the color orange is used to represent high voltage. I'm not sure why it would be in the tailgate area but to me that might be a part/cover to some high voltage components. Take it to the dealer.

If you take the Rouge Factory tour, allot of orange protectors that are on various subassembly components that are removed at later points in the line.

Their purpose can be anything from protecting an opening during frame or body rotation until it's removed to recieve a finished part that gets inserted.

There's no High Voltage anywhere near the tailgate so I wouldn't worry about that.

That's the little tab that the dealer pulls after delivery to activate the battery. Kind of like that tab you have to pull to activate a smoke detector.

Remnants from the assembly stage, might be covers from connection to the HVB to the rest of the powertrain chassis, or someone no longer has a Tupperware lid to go with the sandwich keeper.
